Guest omegavesko
What are the benefits of Sailfish over Android? We've got Android 4.2.2, I don't see how porting Sailfish would give us a "new lease of life".

Guest KonstaT
No, Mer can run on ARMv6. Sailfish OS doesn't run on anything except the devices that Jolla internally develops/demos it on. There is no source code available. Jolla uses Texas Instruments hardware in their devices. There won't be Sailfish OS ports to Qualcomm devices because of lack of proper linux hardware drivers (e.g. X11 display drivers for Adreno GPUs). There's slim to none chances that Jolla will make it with Sailfish OS. There's few people in Finland who still believe, but the rest of you probably shouln't care. ;)
