4.2 Camera shutter speed workaround

3 posts in this topic

I just thought I'd share this, it seems when the 4.2 camera is set to VGA resolution, there is no shutter lag whatsoever. The photos capture instantly as it should. Unfortunately the default camera won't allow you to change the cameras values, but this AOSP 4.2 camera will:

Now, your probably thinking VGA is crap, but after taking a few photos, the quality is actually fine. You can still tale decent photos, and you will get the 4.2 camera experience ;)

I also put the quality on Ultra, and that had no effect on performance so its OK to leave it at that option.

I'm going to try this. Thanks for the tip :)

If you don't want to replace the camera, you could also use this camera app by Raverrr http://www.modaco.co...a/#entry2116663
