How to update, FOTA or with Acer App

I got the S500 with Acer_AV043_S500_RV16RC05_WW_GEN1/Acer_AV043_S5001.058.00_WW_GEN1 Image/Build version. Since I read there is an update to JB I tried the system update(FOTA?), but I got a message my system is up to date.

Than I downloaded the update manually from the acer support server, there I got OS_Acer_AV051.S500.RV04RC09.WW.GEN1_A41J_A. The install is ok, but while updating it gives me an update fail message without closer explanation. I followed the program advices to driver install, activate usb debug on thephone, and so on ...
