Guest PaulOBrien
Google Keyboard, aka the 'stock Android keyboard', has become the latest core Android component to hit the Play Store. Available for installation on all devices running Android 4.0 and above, the release serves a number of purposes. First of all it gives a way for Google to easily update the keyboard component of devices without needing a full ROM as was required previously, secondly it allows Google to offer the stock keyboard experience to devices that wouldn't normally include it (such as the HTC One or Galaxy S4) and most importantly it continues to expand the number of core Android experiences that are now on the Play Store. Oh and it provides another good reason to have the Google suite on your device rather than, say Amazon's offering... Now that keyboard is available for download, the component i'd really love to see online is People. There's plenty more still to offer besides that though - launcher, calculator, desk clock, news and weather... any bets on what's coming next? Heck, maybe we'll even see Google Car Home make a comeback. :) Hit the Play Store to download the Google Keyboard. Guest Sp4rkR4t
The quicker they roll out all of the interface and standard apps into the play store the better for everyone really. Google gets an easier update mechanism and more of the stock android experience on non-stock devices and users get more choice.
Guest domenico lamberti
i dont see why the stock AOSP launcher couldnt be added to the Playstore just like any other launcher, the stock Camera app would probably be nice to some people, i personally dont care as i have a Nexus, but people without Nexii that dont want to root or custom ROM, these things could cut out the majority of hassle and get you a "stock" device
Guest Jon Green
You got me all excited here - thought you were talking about a Google-branded portable hardware keyboard for Android! Wouldn't that be nice?

Guest The Soup Thief
Well, we know Google like their hard keyboards (remember the G1 - and Eric Schmidt's thing for the Blackberry http://m.cnet.com/news/googles-eric-schmidt-why-i-love-my-blackberry/57575660?ds=1) so I wouldn't put it past them...
