ZTE blade 2 wont restart after flash!

I hope someone can help me here. i have flashed my ZTE Blade 2 a few times closely following instructions each time. After suffering with screen calibration issues i downloaded a stock kernel and re-flashed the whole thing. I didnt follow any instructions this time as i thought i could remember the process. Heres what i did.

I am running CWM 5.0.2.7.

Wiped data/factory reset,

wiped cache partition (this may be my problem)

and wiped dalvik cache.

Chose and installed zip from sd card ((13072012-cm9-p736v)

Chose and installed play (gapps-ics-20120429-signed)

and chose and installed kernel (ouk-stock(1))

Then tried to 'reboot system now'. Phone sat on android logo for a long time then returned to CWM.

Cant seem to get it to reboot.

Any advice or links to other instructions would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Paul

You're using a blade 2? If so the reason you're having trouble is because you've installed a rom for the ZTE crescent (I guess). I could be wrong but there aren't any roms available for the blade 2.

The phone is an Orange SF2 which i thought is also a blade 2 or a crescent (all the same thing?). I got my ROM here

I think your problem may be with the kernel. Try just installing the rom again without the kernel.

I have had problems similar to you when installing different kernel. I'm quite sure kernels are included in most roms.

Each time before you install a rom you need too:

1. Make sure the md5 checksum matches the one listed from the download thread/page.

2. Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache

Also, did you notice the red text on the download thread you linked for the rom you're trying? You need to install a different tpt of 220mb system.

The wording for the blade 2 is confusing. At first everyone assumed the crescent was the successor to the blade, until ZTE decided to release a device actually named the blade 2, which is a different device altogether. If you own a sf2 your on the right track anyway.

Yes, i noticed the red thread but didnt need to do anything the first time i flashed. I may have wiped my partitions somehow!

Just reflashed without the kernel and all is ok. No calibration issues or anything.

Many thanks for your help.

Great, if you find you missing apps or gapps you'll need to use a 220mb tpt, you can use tpt helper on the market or install one from these forums.

The problem is, the default system partition size is 200mb so if you start to fill it, (with gapps) you may start to see missing apps or even the gapps not working at all. It's also possible to install a slimmer version of gapps, but I'm not sure that will even fit.
