i currently have a retail moto g that i have smashed the screen on and going to replace with a vodafone G would flashing the stock rom be as simple as above because it looks a lot more complex here.

It's a GIANT piece of cake mate - you could do it in your sleep.

1/ Grab THIS firmware (UK, Retail, STOCK 4.4.2)

2/ Extract the above ZIP file ^

3/ Grab the ZIP attached to this post, extract it, and place "mfastboot.exe", "adb.exe" and "flashall.bat" inside the folder where you extracted the firmware, so they sit alongside the rest of the files. Make sure the firmware folder you just extracted looks IDENTICAL to the attached screenshot! The "mfastboot.exe" is VERY important - this is the latest version from Motorola, and using standard "fastboot.exe" WON'T work.

4/ Make sure ALL the firmware files are present, ensure your device has "USB debugging" turned on and that you have Moto ADB drivers installed and working. Shift-Right-Click and "Open command window here", inside the folder where you placed the above, and do "adb.exe reboot bootloader".

5/ In the same command window, once your Moto G is in bootloader mode, run "flashall.bat" and that will flash Stock, Retail 4.4.2 (UK) for you.

Hi all followed the original post to restore a moto g 16gb to stock

Basically its for the mother in law and the reason for doing this is that she will be paranoid about the bootloader unlocked message so thought Id try the stock

Went through fine it seems but now just stuck looping on this bootloader warning

Can anybody help please!

Hi all!

I've repacked the UK ROM with the necessary tools to convert a branded device (e.g. Tesco) to a generic device.

APPLY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

  • DOWNLOAD (ROMraid) - MD5: 0d8824be0eab931c0d78f185f3640fed
How to use - Windows, Linux and OSX
  • Download the zip file above and extract to a directory
  • Put your device in bootloader mode - Turn off the phone then turn on with the 'volume down' button pressed to enter the bootloader
  • WINDOWS - run 'flash-windows.bat' as Administrator
  • MAC - Open a terminal window to the directory containing the files, and type 'chmod +x flash-mac.sh' followed by 'sudo ./flash-mac.sh'
  • LINUX - Open a terminal window to the directory containing the files, and type 'chmod +x flash-linux.sh' followed by 'sudo ./flash-linux.sh'
Enjoy! :)

I am trying to restore the stock ROM. On windows xp, the flash bat file causes blue screen of death, any idea what could be wrong ?
