You just download the zip and install it. It'll do everything else for you.

You won't lose any of your apps or settings from doing an update :)

A side note, but for people wanting to view and use the newer emoji's in the messaging app be sure to enable option within the extra settings menu.

i don't understand how to use new emoji.

how could i access the extra settings menu?

You probably can't download it from your phone because the hosts file blocks the links.

I receive nothing for working on the ROM and donations aren't a common thing, so I use something that gives me a little something when people use my links. It honestly doesn't make me much (not even $1 yet) but something is better than nothing I guess.

@lomax84

Load up the messaging app, press the settings key and then go to extra settings. From there enable emojis and then you'll be able to use them like you would the stock emoticons.

Thought those emoji where integrated into keyboard, not just the messages app.

Via newer versions of Android they are, but that can't be done with older versions of Android. So you'll only be able to see the coloured emojis in the messaging app and you can access them either by pressing the options key as you're writing a message or by enabling the shortcut key.

@HEROS Can you upload the keyboard ??

Thanks

It's just the Google keyboard that you can download from the Play Store.

@lomax84

When you select "insert emoji" you should see a screen displayed that'll allow you to pick which emojis to use. You can swipe left and right to view different sections.

You'll see these: http://blog.getemoji.com/emoji-keyboard-android

**** Not in the keyboard app like what's shown on the website

They're scaled to be pretty much the same as the font versions. I've even made them higher quality than the ones seen in Google Hangouts :)

@loca

I'll PM you a link once I've uploaded the ROM.

That link you posted, that was exactl what I meant. To bad it cant be done in Jelly Bean.

The ROM is now uploaded. It contains all of the fixes and everythings up to date (minus Hangouts since a lot of people prefer to keep Talk).

One extra plus is that after installing the ROM you should no longer need to reboot again. You can simply install the ROM and everything should work right away :)

@krux3r

Yeah, it would be nice but it's just not possible to make it work that way. Having it fully functioning and optional within the messaging app itself is a huge plus though :)

You mean the Android 4.2 style quick settings? That's not possible, at least in any official way. It's possible to fake it but it doesn't behave the same.

If I get done with the doctors and hospital visits anytime soon then I'll see if I can update the quick settings style (fake it), since I did mention a little while back that I might do an Android L themed version of the ROM at some point. Obviously that depends on my health and if I I have the free time to work on it though.

No because updater script format /data

You have to backup you data , flash ROM and restore data

Is it better to do that way or to flash update.

I already flash script to disable sd tweak and i dont like to flash update on update too much.

I want cleaner system :)

@Tonal4Nagual

The update is small and only replaces key system files. It shouldn't cause you any issues at all.

@atlas

Someone else mentioned a keyboard issue before. It only happens if you've either altered or removed some system apk's or if you've upgraded the Google Keyboard to a newer version than what I put into update 6 and then you later flashed update 6. And I suppose the 1 other reason could be a bad install has occurred, in which case YouTube or ViPER4Android might appear missing too.
