Meizu, 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM, great specs overall for 100 USD :D

$150 to international buyers?

http://www.gizchina.com/2015/08/03/meizu-m2-on-sale-for-149-99-to-international-buyers/

Edit: oh - $130 here but still not $100! And not actually available until the end of August:

"Nowhere" is a too strong word. :)

You can buy it in China for 97 USD (exchange rate from few days back)

For us from "overseas" It will be much closer to 100 in a month or two. :)

And now for the next China bestseller

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 for 115/130 USD

Fast 2.0 GHz CPU (probably Helio x10 / mtk6795)

2GB RAM

16GB ROM

I don't think so.

Not when it's 30%-50% above the originally claimed/published price...

Time will tell if it gets nearer $100 for the likes of us.

You can buy it in China for the claimed price :p

While we are waiting for Meizu M2 to become cheap there is even better bargain coming up:

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is announced today ($125 - $156):

Compare that to Meizu Mx5 now (the same CPU)

Hey guys if you had the choice between the Xiaomi Mi 3 & the new Redmi Note 2 (and you didn't mind the screen size difference):

Which would you choose & why ?

@dakok Thanks for your response. I'm guessing because it has a Mediatek processor the only downside maybe lack of 3rd party development in terms of custom roms.

How many of you are impressed by the new Redmi Note 2, but are a little weary of MIUI v7. But would definitely buy it if there was the assurance of Vanilla Lollipop 5.1, CM 12.1 etc..... ?

Ordered the standard version, most reviews I have read say the prime is not worth the extra money, running miui 7 on my current redmi note, seems fine, really like miui Rom.

Ive only just upgraded to Miui v7 on my xiaomi redmi, just remember its still only based on android 4.4 ! Miui seem very slow on bringing new stable updates out. I will not be getting another xiaomi due to this fact.

probably not a bad thing with the standard of lollipop roms reported on various mobile forums as being laggy etc

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks. Am really tempted even though I have no need to switch from my Coolpad F1 with AOSP...

I liked the dx.com description:

"Master sound, beautiful sound deductive phone drunk"
