Lenovo invited us to view their new products here at MWC and we have some details and hands on video to share with you!

Unfortunately their most interesting product - the Vibe shot - is not destined for the UK, but it's worth talking about anyway.

The Vibe Shot is a mid range phone (with a $349 price tag in markets where it will be available), packing the now widespread and very capable Snapdragon 615 processor (with an impressive 3GB RAM). It also features a glass front and back (Gorilla Glass) with a rear design remininscent of a digital camera. A camera button is included on the device together with a physical switch to toggle between simple and pro camera modes.

Unsurprisingly given the name, the Vibe Shot is all about its camera. It includes a 16 Megapixel sensor, 6 piece modular lens, tri-colour flash, IR focusing (apparently offering focusing at twice the speed of its rivals) and software OIS. With a 1/2.6 sensor size, we are very interested to see the end results but unfortunately the model we were shown was distinctly pre-production, so we couldn't take any samples shots.

As well as the physical camera features, the phone has very feature packed camera software. Features include a smart mode (with automatic selection of the correct mode (portrait etc.)), shot composition assistance and depth of field settings (BOKEH!).

The front camera is an 8 Megapixel fixed focus item.

We will have a full review of the device in due course, but camera aside, we have high hopes for it as a phone too. It has good specs, a capacious 2900mAh battery and an Android lollipop build that while fairly well massaged, looks OK.

The second phone we were shown today is the A7000 which also will not be coming to the UK, with a focus on China and emerging markets.

The phone is part of Lenovo's value line - it has a low price point ($169) but Lenovo are still targetting a number of premium features. It has a Mediatek 8 core CPU, a decent looking 720P screen and Adobe Atmos audio built in.

So on to tablets - we had a look the Tab 2 A8, the Tab 2 A10 (both Android tablets) and the Windows 8.1 powered Miix 300.

The Android devices again form part of an affordable entry line with a 1280x800 screens on the 8" device and full HD on the 10". Both have Dolby Atmos support and the A10 has a 'soundbar' with multiple speakers across the back. Both are launching with a relatively stock Android Lollipop experience and both WiFi and LTE versions. LTE pricing is to be confirmed, but the WiFi versions will be available worldwide at $129 / $199 WiFi pricepoints.

The Miix 300 has a very similar design to the A8, packing a Intel Atom Bay trail processor, 1GB RAM, 32GB storage, an 8” 1280x800 screen, Windows 8.1 with Bing and a free 1 year subscription to Office 365 for the princely sum of $149.

Last up was something we did get quite excited about... the Lenovo Pocket Projector. The device features a TI DLP lens with 50 lumen brightness, an image that will scale to ~2.8m (~110”), 2.5 hour battery life, twin speakers, Miracast and DLNA support, microSD playback, microUSB charging and auto keystone correction. We had a quick demo and at the $249 price, it seems like a really great gadget. Availability is planned for March.

There's no question that the Vibe Shot and the Projector were our favourites, but it'll be interesting to see if Lenovo expands into other markets and how they integrate / share with Motorola going forward now the acquisition has completed. They have some pretty desirable products that we think may do well in the UK.
