Guest nhmanas
I don't know if it's true or not but encrypting phone related with selinux (security enchanted Linux) and it don't add too much security but lags your Linux device. Doesn't matter, phone laptop or desktop...

Guest Adrian_B
I haven't noticed the slightest bit of lag or difference from encrypting my handset. I am on the latest UK Firmware mind you (MR01D) .I know Benchmarks don't really mean anything and I haven't got a benchmark before encrypting but here you go :). Guest macbreakweeklyfan
Considering how utterly broken a lot of Android is, I'd never put ANY faith in their so-called "security"; I'd rather take a risk and have a faster phone tbh.
