After the launch of Google Photos in May of this year, for many users there was one piece of functionality clearly missing - collaborative albums. A new Photos update, now rolling out to web, Android and iOS, finally adds this feature, providing a quick and easy way to work with friends or family to build a great collection of photos.

After inviting people to your album, they can join to add their own photos and videos and also receive notifications when new content is added. You can also save photos and videos from a shared album to your own Google Photos library and keep access to them for ever.

The process itself is super-easy - select the photos, make an album and then send the link off to the people of your choice, no matter what platform they are using.

Check out the video below for a full overview.
