Lineage OS (rebranded CyanogenMod) 13.0

Unofficial builds for Huawei Y300/G510/G330

Disclaimer: CyanogenMod and I are not responsible for any damages to your device.

Download:
    Mega.nz - https://mega.nz/#F!F1hmmICR!22r532OdQ_gwphqHy9kwCg (G330 has extra - overclocked kernel to 1.3GHz)

GApps:

I would recommend microG as workaround replacement for GApps, but you can use Opengapps (ARM/6.0) Pico and got a long lags.

Using GApps slows the phone considerably so I would advise using minimal GApps editions.

With Opengapps, it must be installed at the same time as the rom. Installing at a later time causes FC's when the phone is rebooted.

OpenGApps Note: To fix AOSP keyboard with opengapps pico remove the file: /system/lib/libjni_latinimegoogle.so

Current Status:

Working so far:

It boots successfully, display works, touchscreen & buttons all work ok
    GPS
    Wifi
    Bluetooth
    Audio
    Video playback (software decoding)
Internal & External SD Card - Internal set as primary storage, External is adoptable. <-- DON'T "erase and format SD" from system! Use PC or recovery mode or aparted app.
Phone/Data - Needs testing! Rild & libril now built from source using custom libril based on CM13 hardware/ril-caf with a commit from LegacyHuawei.  <-- It works with CM13 RIL!
    Camera @ 5MPx

Not Working:

    Video playback (hardware decoding)
FM Radio - still no audio output

Comments/Known Issues:

Wifi:

When configuring wifi during the setup wizard, wifi connects to the access point but sometimes doesn't make an internet connection. Skip through the setup wizard, go to Settings -> Wifi, turn off wifi, turn it back on and it will connect successfully.

Mobile Data:

If mobile does not connect when enabled, turn on aeroplane mode, wait a few seconds then turn off aeroplane mode. When the phone reconnects to the network it should also successfully connect the mobile data. Now that the initial connection has been made, you should be able to disable and enable mobile data as required and it will connect.

Build no.1 (10.01.2017.)

initial build - nice battery saving with microG instead of google play services; wake phone with volume buttons at settings>buttons>volume buttons

Screenshot_20170110-121704.png Screenshot_20170110-152519.png Screenshot_20170110-121734.png  Screenshot_20170110-191505.png

UPDATE 1 (25.01.2017.) : Lineage OS boot animation flashable ZIP

Build no.2 (13.02.2017.) : Lineage 13 updates every month, so you would like MONTHLY builds.

- Security updates from 01.01.2017. ; better Initial setup; WiFi is first to connect, Data is turned off as default (yes, no data leaks), ROOT is removed by default (even it apears in Dev.menu). WiFi may connect, but no internet - please, turn off and turn on WiFi switch and reconnect.

- For now, Y300 build is compiled and uploaded... SuperSU is intergrated as app (IGNORE that internal root tweaks in Develop. menu is unavailable)... External and internal SDs are switched by default by /system/build.prop (persist.sys.vold.switchexternal=1). U8833 users, please flash ril_u8833_cm13.zip!!!

- G510 is rooted and uploaded, SDs are not switched by default; THERE ARE RIL patches - if other user can not hear you!!!!!!!! Fixed build for u8951 is also uploaded, use this one!

- G330 is uploaded, but have no tester for it! Some apps and priv-apps need to be removed to fit on 512MB system partition.... also camera and RIL need to be tested.

Build no.3 (16.03.2017.) : Calls work OK.

 - Security updates from 01.02.2017. ; ODEXED ROM - everything first start broke, after giving permissions, every app works, no more long "optimizing app xx of xxx"!

 - WiFi works - maybe need to re-connect first time. Bluetooth works - but need to turn on the switch and enter BT options and turn switch on again.

 - RIL work - other user can hear you now!!! NO need for any patch!

- SuperSU works - inside Dev, re-enable root ADB and apps.

- Snap not working, it is replaces with old Camera and OpenCamera

- Volume rocker wake was lost, but now is working again.

- UPLOADED ALSO ON AndroidFileHost

Note: ROM works good with microG; I suggest you to flash ROM, finish initial setup, reboot, flash OpenGapps and wipe /cache and dalvik-cache! After OpenGapps, performance drop a lot!

Build no.4 (06.06.2017.) : Nothing new for 3 months, same like  build no.3.

- Y300, G510 and G510 DS build are uploaded!   Even integrated OGapps slow down phone a lot...so, evade OGapps.

NOTE: backup (dd or adb pull) modem/baseband partition (/dev/block/mmcblk0p3) is flashing G510D - it also flash 2 files to that partition!

UPDATE: This is big and useful project by Setialpha, named NanoMod!!! NanoMod @ AFH

Full package got dozen of useful apps, microG package got newest microG FW installer, patcher is useful for deodexed roms (frameworks) to patch services.jar to gain signature spoofing and use microG FW as fake Google Play services.

Any big difference in performance between CM an Lineage?

No diffs at all, just new name. I've used slim6 device tree and no CMA in kernel, instead of cm13.

Hi adeii!

1) How much free RAM do you have without gapps?

2) Does the battery last a lot?

3) No problem with the camera set to 5 MP?

4) The rom does not have problem that the phone stays on black screen? How was Infinitive OS 1.0?

5) Play the videos well?

Sorry if I ask too much.

You do an excellent job!

Thank you for interesting, Robert!

let me see: 1a) avg. 325MB in use, free 40MB at moment ;

2) well installing apps consume battery faster, also automatic brightness, without (open)gapps, on 2G only, battery life is almost whole day.

3) no, even stock CM camera work on 5MPx with out crash;       4) not long b.s. as on IO 1.0 (about 1 min) for not, maybe <10 sec.

5) MX Player 1.8.15. can play movies with software and hardware codecs (hardware+ do not work), even 720p mp4/mkv.

1b) better combination:

Thank you for responding adeii.

I am interested in trying the rom these days. I'll ask you other questions, forgive the inconvenience.

1) Will this rom go more smoothly than the Infinitive OS 1.0?

Right now I have Infinitive OS 1.0 installed without gapps or google service. Here I leave you a capture of how much Ram leaves free (150 mb free).

WhatsApp Image 2017-01-15 at 5.04.11 PM.jpeg

For example, I have installed: Whatsapp, Swipe for Facebook, Napster, Instagram, Twitter and Nova Launcher.

The ram management is excellent and the battery lasts about 6 or 7 hours in the rom of infinitive OS 1.0 (depending on the use you give to the cell phone).

So I ask again: will Lineage OS 13.0 go much better than Infinitive OS 1.0? :)

PS: Will you keep updating this rom or will this be your last build?

Regards!

1) I'm not sure that 6.0 rom is smoother than 5.1.1, IO1.0 is lightweighter. Do you use something to hibernate all these apps, like Greenify or Amplify to make longer battery life?

2) Depends on my free time and if Lineage make some major update.

update: Soory. I tried to cherry-pick AICP Extras into Lineage and I can not compile it....

Lame answer is to try installing some app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andcreate.app.trafficmonitor or Xposed + some module (but for now I can not find any wokring)

1) I do not use hibernate applications.

2) I will then wait for a new build to use this rom :D

Thanks adeii for your answer, im going to continue using this build and i´ll wait for your next build.

Another question, do you think its possible to develop a nougat version for y300, despite its low level hardware specifications?

I have read nougat needs phones with an extra storage partition.

For now, Lineage has not got much update - just fixed bootanimation. So no need for update for now.

HW spec. should not be a problem, Huawei Y635 got unofficial update for CM/LOS 14.1, main problem is to change kernel for Y300...it can not boot, even at chil360.

i do not know about "extra storage partition" :(

LineageOS didn't make update, they just fixed making of bootscreen animation for version 13. they focus on  version 14.1 and we still can not make it for our devices.

2) Its possible update your aicp mm 11 build security patch with the one in your LOS build, december patch, if this is possible how we can do it?

3) Can you use RR Nougat for make your y300 Nougat build?

Thanks four your attention adeii.

Thanks for article, Luisk22!

1) "That said, Google has moved to a new file system called SquashFS, which is a highly-compressed, read-only file system originally designed for embedded systems in low-memory situations." - ha, totally linux distroes rip-off! ubuntu/linuxmint use this file system to install linux into windows via wibu.exe or mint4win.exe.

but why Google made that? we need 2 system partition? one read-only for storaging some "filesystem.squashfs" and other to be old-fashion "/system" ?

2) well, i do not have experience to add security patches to older builds. sorry.

3) best way to got working build is to build AOSP rom and then make more specific roms.

Hi Adeii, it's not possibile to skip wifi during the setup wizard. How can we do?

Well, Huaweino, it's ok. You have flash rom and *gapps at once. There is old trick (android 2.x) to escape initial setup like this:

starting with top-left corner of the screen, all corners must be tapped once, in a clockwise direction. (Top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left to be more specific)
