what is 'band type' in relation to a phone? It is only single band, people are bitching about that, how bad is that?

Dual Band capability means that your phone will make and receive calls around the world that operate on the GSM 900/1800 networks i.e. frequency.

Tri Band capability means that your phone will make and receive calls around the world that operate on the GSM 900/1800 and 1900 networks i.e. frequency which includes USA.

so basically you can only use it in countrys on the original network type, so you couldnt buy it here and use it in the us etc.

thanks for the info; does this same info apply to the american version of CDMA (which this phone is, as its a Sprint phone...)

It's an ugly phone, dude :lol:

CDMA is the latest technology from mobile transmission. Current coverage is currently the US, eastern europe and asia. See the following link for a full coverage map:
