Yep GPRS does work abroad. Checkout http://www.orange.co.uk/services/orange_gp...gprs_table.html

Charges have not been published as yet and was actually FREE upto the 5th December. I have not been advised by Orange regarding the correct charges but I did see that it could be as high as £10 per MB in Kong Kong and aroung £8 per MB in many other countries...

Its an expensive hobby

Well, I can tell you that it didn't work in Denmark when I was there this weekend.

I used GPRS on both Orange France and SFR networks this weekend. downloading speeds were actually quicker in France than in UK.

i am travelling to south africa where i am told gprs is now available

Looks like it would be better if only the phone could be unlocked and i get an MTN sim card while I am over there.

:D

>>MarsBar: Hmmmm... strange! Like lots of other danes live in (wait for it... ) Denmark! And my SPV seems to enjoy the GPRS here?

Maybe the 'roaming' part of GPRS isn't quite as ready as one should think?? Just wondering.
