I had edited the registry to show battery in 10% increments. I'll have to check that key again & make sure it didn't revert after the soft reset.

20% increments are useless, my phone shut down shortly after reaching 20%, which means it was closer to 5 or 10%.

Calling your bluff on that one.

Well The M2D Problem is fixed, all of you out there saying that the envelope always cuts off, that is not true. I have a working M2D right here(screenshots included). Instructions for what I did to get working are below, I also tried it with a couple of different themes(stock AIO & Blue, I used customizer to apply the themes) Disregard the ugly red verizon theme start bar:

1) Install Un-official ROM

2) Install Wozzer PDA Image (WM6.5 Build 21210 STOCK)

Hmm, well thanks for your post, but I was aware I could get M2D to work by flashing to another ROM. I had it working great with WoZZeR's M2D 6.1v5. My point in posting was to:

1) See if anyone else who flashed 6.5v2 (21222) M2D version had the same mail and weather tabs problems i observed, and if so

2) see if there was any fix (graphic positions stored in an XML file?) that could be applied, and if not

3) Alert WoZZeR to a possible, but VERY minor flaw in his M2D rom so he could address it in his next release, if he chooses - if not, fine by me! I am very happy with my 6.5 M2D build either way.

In case anyone was wondering how to reorder the items in the honeycomb start menu... Here's how I did it...

To reorder icons in the start menu do the following registry edits...

can have 12 icons on top of screen, for example:

Today (990), Games (980), easy settings (970)

smart memo (960), utilities (950), Adv settings (940)

media album (930), camera (920), Resco Expl (910)

youtube (900), Live Search (890), Facebook (880)

so in registry navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\

go through each item deleting any favorite & favoriteorder entries

change Rank value starting with top row at 90000990 with increments of 10

note if program is missing just do the "move to top" and it will get added to the registry

have to do a soft reset to see new order show up

I did this and it didn't work for me : ( it kinda just switch those programs in different places but not at the top or in the order i put them in

lioryte - What version of the ROM are you using? I could not get MS Voice Command to work at all. Also, where did you get Advanced Config? I am using the Stock ROM and it is not in there. Did you use one of the other ROMs and do they have it?

I have not had any ringtone issues on the stock ROM, v1 or v2. I am one of the oddities that likes the Samsung Dialer, that is why I chose the Stock ROM (I was assuming it was not in the others). I had issues with the WM dialer in 6.1 because it would not lock the screen when I was talking.

Using Lite ROM v.2, and MS Voice 1.6 attached HERE, downloaded to device. Advance config. are at the settings part. Andrenalyn sez it ain't doing nothing but I gets 5 Sat in under a minute after a cold reset...BETTER than the usual 10+ minutes it took me before. the Lite version has the Sam. dialer

I handle a lot of email via an Exchange server. So I was disappointed to see no improvements or changes in Pocket Outlook in either of Wozzer's wonderful 6.5 ROMs, especially to make pOutlook more finger-friendly (larger menus, scrolling, etc.)

I seem to recall promos about WM 6.5 that show these kinds of improvements. Does anyone know if we're expecting to see further changes in email and other MS apps as part of 6.5? If so, are they just not yet released in the beta versions Wozzer has used in his ROMs so far?

I'm particularly unhappy with the lack of even halfway-decent finger scrolling when reading emails. It's not quite as bad if you're reading a long text-only email, but it goes berserk when there are lots of URLs and pictures intermingled with the text. It seems as if URLs or graphic, regardless of size, are treated by the scrolling algorithm as if they were just a single line of text... so a tiny touch will jump right to the bottom of an email with lots of graphical content. Yet for some reason, horizontal scrolling doesn't seem to work that way - it's fairly slow and controlled whether you're looking at text or a graphic.

It's all very frustrating, because other tools like Opera manage to deliver a nice smooth scrolling experience even with pages having very complex graphics. So why are pOutlook and most of the other native MS apps so horrible??

At the risk of complicating things, I installed m.carroll's very nice PureBlack2 theme for WM6.5 (from XDA-dev) which at least adds the larger menus, rounded tabs, etc. However, now it seems that scrolling is has gotten even worse - it's almost so fast that it's totally unusable; and I also seem to have lost the ability to auto-rotate the screen orientation even though the Settings options are still correct. Is it even possible for a theme to actually change the behavior of things like scrolling and auto-rotation?

If all of this has simple answers, my apologies -- but I'm still trying to understand which behaviors are native WM 6.5 vs. those that occur because Wozzer's creations are based on the stock 6.1 ROMs (including whatever changes and tweaks were made by Samsung and/or VZW), vs. behaviors that result from third-party tools or tweaks that have been cooked into these new 6.5 ROMs. Am I the only one who's confused...? :D

I am finding it incredibly irritating that when first turning on the screen to see the sliding unlock screen that the backlight is never on. Was golfing today and could NEVER see where that silly slider was. Has anyone found a fix for this yet? A way to have the backlight always on whenever the phone screen itself is on?

Yes you are right, but when comparing the GPS performance from original leaked ROM to this one it's a HUGH difference. I have no idea why but I'm happy when getting a lock in under a minute compared to w8ting 10+. How's your 6.5 project coming?

I'm waiting for it to rtm or at the very least an official rom that isn't beta from Verizon.

WiFi is only real issue - but resolved as needed via manual workaround listed in previous post.

First off - you guys are amazing! Running the rom with m2d and I love it!

Second - downloaded some Manilla 2d themes from xda - they didn't fill the screen on my Omnia (I'm assuming they were designed for the HTC?)

In the ones I could edit - I changed the background image to 240x400 but they were still short. Any idea what I am missing?

omniafanatic - did you soft reset after making the reg changes? Also make sure you delete any favorite/favoriteorder entries. Rank is definitely how the icons are ordered.

dmcnado - to set the softkeys within wm6.5 the left one is universal and is set in HKLM\software\microsoft\chome. Change SK1TEXT and SK1URL to whatever you want. I've got it set to launch Tasks as I rely on my ToDo list in Outlook tasks. You can set the right softkey to be different for each panel, so for example I changed the CClock section to add SK2TEXT to Alarm and SK2URL to the samsung alarm clock app.

Mine seems to be very unstable... it locks up a lot a like the SMS screen and stuff. my system settings seemed to have messed up a little during a backup(restore actually) from winmo 6.1.. Can I reflash it without losing all the programs I have installed? Without a hard reset?

OK, I just flashed my brand new omnia, so far so good.. ! I had the lite rom on the old one, for just over a day, and had no large issues, so i deceided to flash this new device with that same rom aswell.
