yep same here, i've tried following NPS versions:

-New_PC_Studio_1.3.0.IJ1

-New_PC_Studio_1.4.0.IK1

-New_PC_Studio_1.2.1.IH2_5 (indicates an update is availble but isn't able to install)

-New_PC_Studio_1.3.0.II4

All of them say my device is unsupported. I tried putting my phone back to factory defaults, no succes.

PDA: B7610XXIH2

CSC: B7610LUXII4

TEL: B7610XXIH1

I guess I'll just have to wait (a little more :D )

ps: i'm using an azerty model

Normal update still not working (my phone is running Secany´s 6.5, NPS is IK1 running on W7).

I just tried to run NPSWMBinaryUpgrader.exe by hand while running NPS in the background. It seems to go well until step 3, where it says there is no network connection. Any ideas on this?

I'm still on the original 6.1.

I tried the binaryupgrader as well, got to the part where I was able to make a backup, but when it should start to download the rom it seems to fail.

Doesn't make any sense.

I have also been experimenting with different country settings when installing the software, also no succes...

READ THIS!

People who have this phone with a brand (like: Vodafone) cannot upgrade! This is due to the fact that Samsung has used a straight-copy from Microsoft itself.

If you have Vodafone like me, it would give big trouble updating it like that, it wouldn't have the right information to connect to Vodafone Live etc.

So we'll have to wait until Vodafone releases something.

I had a vodafone branded. I flashed with i8000 CSC (secany's 6.5) for deleting all brand. Now i tried to flash back to 6.1 (no brand, dumped in this forum) and update with NPS. Same errors. I think is not a problem about brand....

Did you already have Secany´s ROM flashed to it before official upgrade?

BTW Can you confirm this is what it looks like afterwards?

pda: b7610nxxik2

csc: b7610nxenik2

phone: b7610xxik1

I can indeed confirm that that info is currently listed as my device version!

I bought my mobile combined with a vodafone subscription (no internet subscription) from a webshop. I know that my phone is not simlocked but I'm unsure if these are linked.

the standard set up is for the business customers of vodafone anyway, they told me at the shop before I even bought the phone that the connection to vodafone live needed to be set up manually. it also says so when you check the settings for the qwerty on the vodafone page, so that can never be the reason why this isn't or shouldn't be working.

personally I wouldn't mind setting my connection up again if only I could get that silly update.

i have the pro from the pdashop. I do have vodafone but i bought the phone seperate..no problems what so ever with the upgrade

my previous omnia was vodafone branded but i didnt have any problems flashing..

i know this doesnt help much ;-) but i dont know how the fact that its vodafone branded would interfere with flashing

it does help me believe that vodafone branding on an unbranded phone can't be the issue :D

So, happy to hear it!

Starting to wonder if it's some kind of ridiculous setting we all have in common hehe

just tried this as well but the updater crashes with a c++ runtime error. in the hope that this is an issue under windows 7 I'll try the same on my XP laptop at work today.

EDIT: OK tried this at work now and got the same error, also saw that the update window mentions a DB error :/

Have a look at this thread.

It seems for NPS to update the phone we'll need a CSC with the appropriate region code.

Edit: In case it wasn't obvious, the above thread is for Omnia 2, do NOT attempt to flash any of the files in that thread.

I can indeed confirm that that info is currently listed as my device version!

So what's the phone perform like? Worth all this hassle to upgrade? :D

Thanks for the dump.

My device is also not supported for the update according to the NPS (why even build this annoying piece of sh*t software when you have activesync/mobile device center).

I have an unbranded unlocked B7610 with Vodafone from GSMwijzer. When I got the phone all settings were in Portugese?? Then CSC check with appropriate region code must be the problem. Thanks Tarqon.

Will the dump of the dutch version work with my CSC?

did you really flash your b7610 with a CSC of an i8000? without errors or bricks?

and what is your experience with flashing the original samsung wm6.5 rom after you have flashed the i8000 CSC?
