• For some reason, Vodafone seem to want to pick a fight with Three. In a bundle 'exclusive to Three customers' (although there doesn't seem to be any validation of this), they are offering 20GB of 4G data (with unlimited data for the first 2 months), unlimited calls, unlimited texts, Euro Traveller Plus and one of their media services (Spotify, NowTV Entertainment, Sky Sports Mobile TV or Netflix), all for £20 a month on a 12 month SIM only contract. There might be some cashback on offer too!

This Thursday (11th February), Honor UK are hosting a meetup at Antenna in Nottingham, with the night dedicated to their latest Smartphone, the Honor 5X. Attendees will be able to play with the new phone and enjoy food, drinks, games and even competitions to win Honor goodies. Entry is free to anyone over 18 (but limited, so be quick!).

The more we want our devices to do, the more the batteries take a battering (pun-ish intended). It makes sense, imagine a 3000mAh battery in a device 3 or 4 years ago... battery life would likely have been measured in weeks rather than days. 2015 flagships however often struggled to see a full day of use because of a combination of factors - svelte bodies, power hungry chips and lacklustre power optimisations. It doesn't have to be this way however and one company in particularly is showing us the way forward... Xiaomi!

The Honor 5X UK pricing has finally been revealed - Honor's attack on the mid-range market (or is it the low end market? It's hard to tell with the Honor 7 being such good value too!) has a RRP of £189.99, but will currently set you back just £169.99 and you'll also get a £10 voucher for a future vMall purchase too. The handset is available in silver (with a white front) and grey (with a black front) now, with an all-gold version shipping next week. We have the gold version in the MoDaCo offices now, so we're ready to take your questions!

Do you have trouble getting to sleep because you mess around on your phone right up to the minute you go to sleep? If so, that may be due to over exposure to blue light from your device. "The cause is the photoreceptor in your eyes, called Melanopsin. This receptor is sensitive to a narrow band of blue light in the 460-480nm range which may suppress Melatonin production - a hormone responsible for your healthy sleep-wake cycles. In experimental scientific studies it has been shown an average person reading on a tablet or smart phone for a couple of hours before bed time may find their sleep delayed by about an hour."

Three UK have posted a Honor 5X preview video online, confirming they are to range the device both on contract and on prepay, following on from the success of the Honor 7 on the network. Due to be released by Honor directly on Vmall on 4th February, the device brings high end features such as metal construction and a fingerprint reader to the mid-range. It also marks a departure from other Honor devices by utilising a Snapdragon 615 processor instead of the more commonly used Kirin CPUs.

Gaming smash hit 'Punch Club' is finally available for Android, following its release on iOS and Steam. "Your father was brutally murdered before your eyes. Now you must train hard, eat chicken and punch dudes in the face to earn your place in the Punch Club ranks, and discover who ended your father's life."

The OnePlus X is now available to buy without requiring an invite. Nearly 2 years on from the original launch of the OnePlus One, the X goes invite-free quicker than either the One of the Two did. Is this a sign of OnePlus better managing supply and demand, or a waning interest in the product? Who knows, but if you want a X (and it's a great phone), it's good news.

Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 is pretty awesome for fast charging your device in these modern times, where battery life is at something of a premium. What's even better is how devices such as the Galaxy S6 and Honor 7 support the standard too, despite not packing Qualcomm processors. The price of compatible chargers has been falling fast and you can now pick up a single port charger for under £8. Bargain!
