Runtastic Mountain Bike Pro free today only

Runtastic Mountain Bike Pro, a fully featured mountain biking application from the creators of the very well respected Runtastic running app, is free today only!

Normally priced at £4.29, the Pro version is activated by downloading the free version and entering a coupon code displayed in AppTurbo's AppOfTheDay app, a great little app which offers a new free title every day. I mentioned previously that often the free apps are pretty uninspiring (and i'm not sure they're always actually a deal), but that's two great titles inside a week now after the TNTBF2 deal.

One thing to note is that after the deal has passed, you're no won't be able to reactivate using the code if you uninstall / reset... so make sure you get a backup with your utility of choice (e.g. Titanium Backup) just to be safe! :)

Tried this one out, its not bad, but I didnt like the way it demands you create an account with them or log in with facebook to even use it. I have no interest in sharing my rides and performance with the internet at large, so why do I have to sign in to some stupid social network to get past the splashscreen? You can sign back out once you have signed in and use the app offline, but you HAVE to sign in everytime you start the app. It just smells of data harvesting. Allsportgps pro, which was free on the Amazon appstore a while back is actually a lot better, it doesnt bark orders at you like this one does, but to be honest thats just a gimmick that gets annoying very quickly. Runtastic seems to absolutely hammer the battery as well.
