    Archos G9 tablets updated

We're receiving reports that the Archos G9 tablets (the 80 and 101) are receiving a firmware update.

Some users have reported receiving the Android 4.0.24 firmware update (based on Android 4.0.4) from Archos through the OTA firmware updater. We've received the same update on an Archos 80 G9, but have failed to find it on the firmware page at Archos.com. The firmware changelog, while indicated as last updated on June 19th 2012, actually contains information on the October 10th update.

This update brings many improvements and bug fixes to Archos Media Center, wifi drivers and improved remote control options, including remote control over HDMI.

Thanks to everyone who sent this one in. Have you received the Archos Android 4.0.24 firmware update? If so how are you finding it? Let us know in the comments.

    Paul,

Any idea what this will do to my international numbers ie. +1 etc? I also use these numbers to send SMS and to make calls.

    Thanks

    JR

If numbers don't begin 0x or +44, then it will ignore them.

Am I right to assume that it also removes spaces between numbers? Very useful indeed. However, it only did it for the first phone number in any given contact. Any chance it might look for other numbers in a future version?

A nice piece of software, nevertheless. Good job!

    no theres no space

    here is a sample:

    +33 *********

with 9 numbers after the 0

can't you just change the value for +33 ???

    i hope you'll do it ! we can't wait !
