Honor announce the £225 Dual Camera 6X

At CES in Las Vegas, Honor have today announced their latest smartphone release for the UK, Europe and the US - the £225 Honor 6X. The 5.5", full HD handset packs dual 12 Megapixel / 2 Megapixel cameras, 32GB ROM, 3GB RAM, a fingerprint reader and the Kirin 655 processor - a small update to the critically acclaimed Kirin 650 previously featured in the surprisingly snappy Honor 5C.

The headline feature of the device is of course the dual cameras, with a 12 Megapixel main sensor (which we hear is rather good), a 2 Megapixel secondary sensor, sub 0.3 second Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), Deep Trench Isolation (DTI) for reduced noise in low light conditions, 6 part lens and Honor / Huawei's feature packed camera application (we'll confirm when we get our device, but we understand full Camera2 API support is included too).

Full specs are below, but partifcular highlights for me are the CPU, generous ROM and RAM capacities, NFC support for Android Pay, undoubted excellent battery life courtesy of EMUI optimisations and the 3,340mah cell, 2.5D glass and impressive, 450 nit full HD screen. Not bad at all at this price point, the main compromises being no 5GHz WiFi and microUSB (if that counts as a compromise!).

The device, available in grey, gold or silver will be available from tomorrow (4th January) from VMall, with a release from UK carrier partners 3 slated for the start of February.

A slight fly in the ointment is that the 6X will ship with Android Marshmallow with Nougat to follow in Q2 but at least given our experiences with other Honor devices, they are pretty good at delivering updates on time (or even earlier with Beta programmes).

In my opinion it is a very good smartphone for good price-quality ratio, if it is planned in Europe it is quite possible that it will become my next smartphone according to the test! But too bad that in this early 2017 Honor did not think of a USB plug Type-C

Generally you can plug a phone to the computer using the usb cord and have the computer see the phone as a removable flash drive to which you can simply copy/paste the pictures to. However, this typically requires that the phone have an installed microSD card - that's the small version of the sd card that goes in your digital camera .  Assignment help uk

Much obliged for sharing this post. I'm happy to discover your post. Continue sharing!! Have a super fantastic day!!! Overall you can plug a phone into the PC using the USB line and have the PC see the phone as a removable glint drive to which you can basically copy/stick the photographs too. Regardless, this conventionally requires the phone have a presented microSD card - that is the little type of the sd card that goes in your propelled camera. Assignment Help Uk

The telephone is short, stylish, it has a very good camera, 3GB RAM in 32GB version is enough. There is EMUI environment based on Android Nougat, RAM intake is extremely less than 1 GB on no load. The most effective traumatic element is that reminiscence card slot is not dedicated and is shared with the second one SIM, for this reason, it is not feasible to have  SIMs and a reminiscence card interior together. • Well, it's up to you. I have it since few months or a year. No problems with GPS. Just dualsim and 3G for 2nd card made problems for 3G network when received MMS on 1st card, but then using Airplane mode for a moment solved it. Rather no random rebots until it's overloaded by my >650 installed apps, but my new phone (Le Pro 3 Elite x722 on Snapdragon 820) gets short freezes with so many apps, too - it needs cleanup, too. In my case, I needed at least Android 6 as a requirement for apps that I use and they work on Lineage great, as expected, but they couldn't work on 4.2 and 4.4. Btw. on Lineage you can try Google Camera 3.2 with HDR+

    • Just been reading comments about the Lineage 13 rom on the Greek forum - it seems there may be a few bugs that put me off using it as a daily use rom. (micro-sd card as internal storage, random restarts, calls drops, VPN problems, GPS etc)   Edit, might give it a go. Do you still have the soundpatch you could upload? The link on the jpower73 no longer works:     Thanks, KP.
    • Yes, based on Android 6.0.1. Stable enough for daily use.
