There have recently been some rumours of a delay to one of the years stand out flagship Android devices so far, the Sony Xperia Z2. The handset was announced back at MWC in February and was expected to arrive around April 10th. We have reached out to Sony who have confirmed that:
The Xperia Z2 will be available during April and we are expecting to deliver to all consumers who have placed a pre-order through our key partners. We are working tirelessly to maximise stock levels in April but currently we do not expect to meet the high demand across all our sales channels
So if you have already placed a pre-order for this exciting new device, you are in luck. If you want it quickly then we recommend getting your order in as soon as possible. Lets hope this means that Sony have a real success story on their hands with the Z2.
As a reminder, the Xperia Z2 comes with a 1080p 5.2" display with live LED technology, a 2.3Ghz Snapdragon 801 SoC, 3Gb RAM and 16Gb storage while also carrying Sony's customary IP58 rating for water and dust proofing. The Z2 also has the same 20.7 megapixel camera that Sony first introduced on the Z1, but this time with 4K video support. It will arrive with Android KitKat on board and Sony's custom skin as well. The best news about the Z2 is that we wont see any factory fit anti-shatter screen protectors whilst it is narrower and slimmer than the Z1. Definitely one of the stand out devices of the year so far and one we were most impressed with at MWC.
While we wait for the Z2 to become available, why not check out our hands on from Barcelona.
