CoPilot GPS moves to freemium model

You can now download CoPilot GPS from the Android Market for nothing as ALK Technologies have moved the app to a freemium model. This means the basic functionality of the app is available to everybody, however the premium features (including turn by turn directions) come at an additional cost.

Vodafone have released an update to their bargain-basement (but rather nice) Huawei G300 device. Tagged as version 'B885', the release is designed to fix the two main complaints with the shipping device - abnormally low volume in certain scenarios and a serious security issue we highlighted.

As many of you know, i've been rocking a AT&T HTC One X for the past 2 weeks and I LOVE IT! What has been a concern though is that I haven't been able to unlock the bootloader via HTCdev, something I assumed might be related to it being a non release unit. Well, retail units are now hitting customers... and it doesn't look good.

Since announcing that they wouldn't be previewing the successor to the Galaxy S II at MWC in February, Samsung have done a pretty good job building up the hype.

The rumour mill has been working overtime too, with more fake leaks and blurry-cam photos than the last couple of iPhone launches combined. Of the few credible leaks we've had, the device has been glued into housings to prevent us getting a glimpse of the new design and styling. So close!




Rdio comes to France and the UK

Google Play extends carrier billing

Google have expanded the list of carriers and countries where carrier billing can be used, as well as the type of content that can be purchased. Apps, music, movies and books can all now be charged directly to a users mobile bill - if you happen to be in one of the seven supported countries and 15 networks.
