Andy Rubin leaves as head of Android as Chrome / Apps head takes over

Would you still bet against an Android / Chrome merger? Andy Rubin, founding father or Android, has left his position to be replaced by Sundar Pinchai, current head of Chrome and Apps - Sundar will retain those responsibilities.
Announced on the Google Blog in an 'update from the CEO', the move raises again the question of whether Android and ChromeOS will somehow come together at some point in the future. Right now they're certainly not a perfect fit, but it's not inconceivable. The recent Chromebook Pixel release featuring a touchscreen did provide food for thought.
We'll find out more about the future direction of Android and Chrome at the (now sold out!) Google I/O conference in mid-may. Do you have any predictions? Feel free to share!
