We're receiving reports that the Archos G9 tablets (the 80 and 101) are receiving a firmware update.
Some users have reported receiving the Android 4.0.24 firmware update (based on Android 4.0.4) from Archos through the OTA firmware updater. We've received the same update on an Archos 80 G9, but have failed to find it on the firmware page at Archos.com. The firmware changelog, while indicated as last updated on June 19th 2012, actually contains information on the October 10th update.
This update brings many improvements and bug fixes to Archos Media Center, wifi drivers and improved remote control options, including remote control over HDMI.
Thanks to everyone who sent this one in. Have you received the Archos Android 4.0.24 firmware update? If so how are you finding it? Let us know in the comments.
