The Huawei Ascend G300, the potential new king of the budget segment, is available to buy NOW from Vodafone UK (i've just picked one up instore!)

Priced at a frankly astonishing £100 (with a mandatory £10 topup for new Vodafone customers), the Ascend G300 packs the following specifications:

  • Android Gingerbread 2.3 (with ICS upgrade to follow)
  • 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM7227A processor
  • 2.5 GB Internal ROM
  • Quad band 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) with dual band 3G (HSDPA 900/2100 7.2Mbps)
  • 4" WVGA (800x480) Touchscreen
  • 5 Megapixel camera with LED flash
  • 802.11 b/g/n WiFi
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • GPS
  • Dual mics with noise cancelation
  • microSD expansion
  • 122.5 x 63 x 10.5
  • 130g
The handset can be purchased both instore and online at the Vodafone shop.

'1 GHz Qualcomm MSM7227A processor' so no flash player, and most hd games wont run? :(

it's ARMv7, so i guess it could run Flash...

It's an ARMv7 cpu it's supports flash, BBC iPlayer plays with absolutely no lag

Save £10, buy online.  Just purchased  on vodafone.co.uk and there was no need for £10 credit top up....

Flash, Iplayer etc runs fine but TVCatchup app doesn't work, neither does their web site.

BTW I bought in store and because I was already on Vodafone, I did not need to buy the Top Up.

Well considering there is nothing blazing on HUKD at the moment this will be replacing my Blade methinks :)

mine's arrived from vodafone.....£100...no other pourchase required. But Anrdroid tells me its locked to the Vodafone network. mmmm. O2 Simplicity SIM will not work.

This is a worthy upgrade to the blade. Screen is very very good and it's fast.
See the G300 thread for ebay unlocks that work. They were at 7.48 and have gone up to about 8 pound.
