Sony Xperia U only £144.96 Pay As You Go including £10 top up!

Finally - a Sony dual-core Xperia reaches that magical sub-£150 price point.

The Sony Xperia U is now available for £134.96 plus £10 top-up from Phones4U on O2, Virgin, Vodafone, Orange and T-Mobile.

What do you get for your money?  As well as Sony's brand (and build?), a fair bit actually...

  • 3.5” Reality Display powered by Mobile BRAVIA Engine gives razor sharp clarity
  • 5MP fast capture camera goes from sleep to snap in just over a second
  • 1Ghz dual core processor gives consumers super fast performance
  • Internal phone storage: 8 GB (up to 4 GB user-accessible memory)
  • RAM 512 MB
  • No Micro-SD Slot :(
  • Running Android 2.3 Gingerbread :(

That 3.5" display is at a stunning resolution of 854x480 FWVGA, and the U comes with 3D Surround Sound, so you could plug in your favourite headphones, and lie back and let the deep bass and high treble bounce around your head.

TopCashBack are offering £6.56 possible cashback, which would bring the price down to £138.

Yes it's running Gingerbread, but Sony have promised an Android 4.0 update soon - with the Xperia P update rolling now, the U will hopefully be next on the list!

A custom kernel and rom available. No recovery yet, but only a matter of time. Need to unlock bootloader and flash via fastboot.
oh wow, Xperia P is only £259 sim free direct from Sony

That's a good price. The P is a nice device. I've become a bit of a Sony fanboy recently, think I'm going to grab an Xperia S if I can hunt a cheapo deal down.
