Samsung Focus 2 now available to buy from AT&T

The Samsung Focus 2 Windows Phone is now available to buy from AT&T. It has LTE, it's white and is only $49.99... what's not to like?

Aside from the LTE support, the Focus 2 packs the same specs that we're used to seeing on just about every Windows Phone device. A 4" 480×800 Super AMOLED display really makes the most of Windows Phone's predominantly black UI, which is powered by a 1.4GHz single core processor and 512MB, realistically enough to get Microsoft's OS zipping along quite nicely. Battery life should be good (especially when not using LTE) thanks to a 1750 mAh battery. The camera is a 5 Megapixel affair with a dedicated 2 stage camera button.

In line with most Windows Phone devices the Focus 2 lacks a microSD slot, it also uses a microSIM - as most new handsets seem to do now.

The real kicker here is the price - the $49.99 RRP is a great deal for a LTE ready handset, even if in reality the Lumia 900 can also be found even cheaper ($39.99) if you're willing to hop on over to Amazon.

So, who's going to buy the Focus 2? Those wanting a Smartphone or those looking specifically looking for a Windows Phone might be won over by it's price point and it'll likely be available for free before long online and then in store. But the reality is, it's largely just another distinctly average and pretty forgettable Windows Phone that is constrained by Microsoft's very specific chassis specs (particularly around that WVGA screen). Roll on Windows Phone 8 / Apollo / whateveritendsupbeingcalled.

Looking to buy or learn more? Head on over to the AT&T site or the Samsung product page.
