You've amply demonstrated your incapacity to have rational discussion at ANY time, given your abundant over-emotional, irrational outbursts -- as I said, go to hell, via the nearest highway, if that's your preference
  2. [JB] [4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 [ROM]

Do us all a favour, go to Hell, now, you'll end up there eventually anyway this isn't a popularity contest, it's supposed to be a rational discussion of issues, but you and your cronies have destroyed that
  3. [JB] [4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 [ROM]

suffice to say, simply, that it's been a valiant attempt to "milk" all that one can out of a low level device, whose performance was always, on the better tech sites, was noted to be good, in terms of value for money, but not that good compared to many more expensive competitiors,, and we should be grateful, for next time, that we've had a look at something by all means, report me, I was not the one to start these insulting comments: be careful you'll get back from the moderators what you dish out: "go to your nearest motorway, and start playing with the traffic." I think you'll be required to give an apology first.
  4. [JB] [4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 [ROM]

yours was not the only post I was responding to -- you people waste others time, and I was trying to save mine -- "nuff said" the rest of your post doesn't warrant response, as we're not talking about other ROMs, or devices, on this thread
  5. [JB] [4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 [ROM]

I fully understand where and what my IMEI is -- but how about YOU do some reading, like several of the posts about officially unlocking the bootloader, that disagree with your early points?? Did YOU know your IMEI can be changed by install processes - rad these posts I referred to -- in fact, this is referred to on the "original" Huaweig300.com webpage, which came from xda-developers, I think - which is why they provide guidelines for backing up your IMEI signal strength is NOT normal -- I have OBJECTIVE evidence of difference in signal strength in now THREE different devices, desperate to resolve this problem with phone reception, two G300s (one "stock" as bought in store, with Huawei GB 2.3.7), one U8652 with CM7.2-benru89-v4) ALL with same network monitoring software installed, software respected by commercial writers on the 'net, in identical conditions, except for different ROMs -- can YOU say that? -- both devices with "modified" ROMs installed following full wipes; as I said SO... sorry, BUT -- You are WRONG!! This ROM has ongoing, serious, issues BUT I fully respect the fact that this is an Experimental ROM, providing, JB, where it might not otherwise be available, but burying your head in the sand serves no one I have no "personal" stake, and respect and thank Daz for his efforts, BUT .... I, personally, never mentioned, or referred to Viber, fyi I am NOT trolling the board -- others are trying to explain the problems they too are having and "stop playing with my phone" -- I thought that was the point of a discussion of Experimental ROMs on a phone??????????? are YOU even using a G300 -- you don't list it as your phone -- how about getting on the right list? and "weak" meaning not strong, is spelt w-e-a-k NOT week as in week in a year, which it might take you, hopefully, for you to do the required reading, during which time learning some basic social skills and respect for other people is also recommended it would serve ALL people were you to not post again, if you're only going to muddy the waters for those trying to resolve these issues
  6. [JB] [4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 [ROM]

Have to disagree -- signal strength quality is also very deficient -- comparing phone using objective data on two different devices, one with ROM and one using different ROM -- for some reason the random reboot problem seems to have settled down all by itself! Are you saying signal strength should be weaker for some reason on JB compared to GB? BUT I do respect, and thank, Dazz for his marvellous efforts -- I hope we all can appreciate this is an Experimental ROM -- JB available to me the way Huawei never wanted to make available to us, on the G300, here in New Zealand
  7. [JB] [4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 [ROM]

Sorry, could I have this again? not sure what you're saying -- in New Zealand the G300 is ONLY available with Gingerbread, and so I had to use a custom ROM if I wanted ICS or JB on my phone. Through using the process listed on the Huaweig300.com site the baseband changed from 109808 to 2030. Sure, things work "better" on ICS (better signal -- I use two phones -- the U8652 usually shows 3-4 bars, the G300 rarely has 3, and never 4 -- see my previous posts for more empirical info) -- and many previous posts discouraged use of 109808 baseband, preferring 2030, so I don't think it's a baseband issue OR are you saying that unlocking the bootloader, officially, is the issue -- about which there are some related post streams, but little time has been spent on THIS specific stream / topic area. I still haven't emailed Huawei for my "official" unlock code -- in New Zealand, they probably wouldn't know what I was asking for!! (and I'm not 100% sure what my IMEI is / was originally, which I understand is required to be passed on to Huawei to obtain this unlock code -- though I did backup the IMEI using the huaweig300 procedure, but not sure how to use it -- if someone else wants to tell me how to do this to get the IMEI??? I have A number on my phone (using About Phone/Status/IMEI) but it's all numbers, and I understand the "correct" IMEI is a combination of letters and numbers?? I'd "kill" to get better signal quallity on my phone -- the cell tower's only a couple of hundred metres away and signal strength typical -100dBm or "less")
  8. No guys, it wasn't me -- CM10.1 R4 is still having its probs, so thought I'd check this out again -- looks like I was hardly alone in liking but not liking this ROM, and if CM10.1 is anything to go by R3 of Electra has all the accumulated rubbish of my local refuse station -- why don't you people grow up -- "unconditional love" is that what you're expecting?? That's what a mother has for her baby, and vice versa -- you are NOT contributing to the development of anything by not sycophantic idolation of kyan or his ROM -- it's not objective feedback, and it's only through objective data gathering and working on the dafa that anything will improve so, to hell with the data, "if you not wi' us, you're agin us" !!!! pshaw, pshaw, pshaw
  9. [JB] [4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 [ROM]

Do you realise you're asking this question of a ROM that is classified as "Experimental"? Do you realise that on this list you're asking questions of people who are using their own phones to Experiment with the properties of new ROM builds? Why not do as others do -- EXPERIMENT -- you will have the answer as to whether or not the ROM will run on YOUR phone -- little if any "harm" will occur if you do this -- at worst you may have to re-install ROM or applications -- so do a backup before you do and you should be 100% OK I don't play games of the sort you do (like TR2) on the phone -- use it for too many other things, but do know I was able to run at least the early "tutorial" stage on R3, so expect no problems with R4 -- but that's the point of experimentation. Iron Man 3 can run on the phone, and it's free and getting rave reviews.
  10. [JB] [4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 [ROM]

as common as this problem seems with OTA updates, I don't believe it''s due to OTA, but I downloaded the zip file and flashed it "manually", not OTA, and yet I too have this problem
  11. [JB] [4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 [ROM]

That's right, Dazz, you owe us nothing, we're grateful for R3, even if R4 doesn't "cut the mustard", as some would say. No one can say they didn't know it was an unofficial, and an Experimental, ROM they were trying, just to see. We can always go back to 4.0.3 if we insist on using our phones as phones.
  12. [JB] [4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 [ROM]

yes, as you say, trying to search MoDaCo for these terms is a waste of time -- Google is much better pardon my last post -- sent in error -- as you can tell from the poor grammatical construction -- now to contribute to the data pool: BOTH call quality is poor, and random reboots are a problem -- the first reflected in the signal strength, now that I've checked it: Present rom, baseband R4, 2030 Dload base b952 Network provider Telecom New Zealand 3G HSDPA Sim card type "new" SIM card -- 2 months old (can't read the fine print) Officialy unlocked bootloader Bootloader NOT officially unlocked Signal Strength -98 -- -105 dBm (and that's using Network Signal Refresher!!) RIL "nothing special" -- no modification flashed
  13. [JB] [4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 [ROM]

Pardon my ignorance, although I admire logical and practical thinking, and try to practice the same, but what do some of these terms mean, so that as many as us can contribute these details as possible: What's a Dload base? Apart from SIM,and Micro-SIM cards, what types of SIM cards are there? (although I realise that some older cards have four pins, and newer ones have three pins) ? RIL -- I'm also not sure if the RIL has been incorporated into a separate zip, or if it's a standard part of the different ROMs I don't use my phone for calls that much, but random reboots seem the bigger problem for me (R4, baseband 2030, New Zealand carrier Telecom 3G, bootloader NOT officially unlocked before upgrading from GB -- what signal strength is normal on this phone -- mine 101 dBm
  14. [JB] [4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 [ROM]

Weren't there some individual case reports that officially unlocking the bootloader, and proceeding from there, resolved call problems -- but did this reach the stage of "empirical research", controlling for individual variables one by one and tabulating the characteristics (call quality, reboots) against specific conditions (network, say) ??
  15. I did NOT tell you to do anything. In fact, for those who have not read my previous posts, let me reassure that I have, on more than one occasion, given my thanks and commendation to Kyan for producing these ROMs, but they do not do EVERY thing, and numerous people have already said (a) reliability and quality of calls using these ROMs is less than they hope(d) for / require (B) they are reverting to earlier ROMs (incidentally, developed by other people) which are better in this regard for this purpose, the ROM simply, truly, is NOT good enough, but I wasn't TELLING you to make it better in this regard -- I had hoped you would, if your motivation was in providing a service, but if it's otherwise, that's for you to work out between yourself and your cronies Certainly, the ROMs produced by kyan are good, in some respects, for some functions, but they do not address the issues raised by these other people who have made submissions to this topic, and who have gone back to using other ROMs WHAT I WAS DOING: I was involved in the process of helping people make their own decisions, based on the available evidence -- much as any responsible scientist would. Gather the "evidence" -- other users' reports of difficulties Interpret the results and outline competing hypotheses accounting for them -- such as the need to "officially" unlock the bootloader, for which evidence has been offered that it substantially improves the quality and reliability of calls for people wishing to examine that evidence themselves, see here: kyan, you will be please not to hear from me again -- like other people, I too shall be reverting to the use of other ROMs, and getting better, more reliable, calls as a result Goodbye, and good riddance, to you Personally, I hope you find an insightful and compassionate therapist to help you overcome your Narcissistic Personality Disorder, something that can muck up many areas of your life, for many years, until you can find the courage to confront the difficulties your personality presents you, and others..
