I'll move it if you stop being helpful ;-)

Yes, I installed that, so I successfully decompiled the apk, but when I was finished editing and I tried to build it I got the following error
[38,15] no viable alternative at input 'v1' [73,15] no viable alternative at input '"filter"' [139,15] no viable alternative at input 'v1' [164,15] no viable alternative at input 'v1' [174,15] no viable alternative at input '"i$"' [189,15] no viable alternative at input '"cb"' [202,15] no viable alternative at input 'v1' [212,15] no viable alternative at input '"i$"' [227,15] no viable alternative at input '"cb"' [240,15] no viable alternative at input 'v1' [241,15] no viable alternative at input 'p2' [254,15] no viable alternative at input '"action"' [311,15] no viable alternative at input '"i$"' [326,15] no viable alternative at input '"cb"' [348,15] no viable alternative at input 'v1' Exception in thread "main" brut.androlib.AndrolibException: Could not smali file: /home/nben/Downloads/SystemUI/smali/com/android/systemui/statusbar/policy/BatteryController.smali at brut.androlib.src.DexFileBuilder.addSmaliFile(DexFileBuilder.java:45) at brut.androlib.src.DexFileBuilder.addSmaliFile(DexFileBuilder.java:33) at brut.androlib.src.SmaliBuilder.buildFile(SmaliBuilder.java:66) at brut.androlib.src.SmaliBuilder.build(SmaliBuilder.java:50) at brut.androlib.src.SmaliBuilder.build(SmaliBuilder.java:37) at brut.androlib.Androlib.buildSourcesSmali(Androlib.java:257) at brut.androlib.Androlib.buildSources(Androlib.java:214) at brut.androlib.Androlib.build(Androlib.java:205) at brut.androlib.Androlib.build(Androlib.java:176) at brut.apktool.Main.cmdBuild(Main.java:228) at brut.apktool.Main.main(Main.java:79) I'm sure I've done something completely wrong, I just don't know what... Any ideas?

Okay, is it okay if I ask you about an error I have with recompiling SystemUI.apk?

Well, one which turns green when charging, I know the iOS7 one does, and I was planning to change it using XBatteryThemer Xposed module. Should I move the post now?

I would like to ask for the help of anyone experienced with decompiling and editing apks, I imagine Daz might have experience, but I don't know who else.

My challenge is that I want to theme the battery icon, but on Kitkat you no longer can because it's drawn from code rather than png files. I found this post,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2628560,(sorry if I'm not supposed to post links) explaining how to edit some files in SystemUI.apk to make this work on the Galaxy Note 3. For obvious reasons this doesn't work here, and would need a lot of editing to make it work.

I'm a complete newbie with editing apks, so if anyone who has experience could help me with this, or show me how to do it myself, it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks for reading.

I almost never get random reboots any more. Having WhatsApp or Facebook installed makes it reboot randomly but I uninstalled them and the ROM is very stable.

I flashed the zip, and although there was never an indication I was in roaming, maybe I was and now I'm not because the icons are white now.

Thank you very much for your help :)

I see, yes it does piggyback, I'm on giffgaff, which is a virtual network using o2's stations.

So everything is working wonderfully on my Y300, but, I have one problem.
My 3g and WiFi icons are always orange, even when my internet connection is absolutely fine and I'm receiving data. It's only a problem because I don't like how it looks, but I would still appreciate greatly any help.
I use xposed, with gravitybox kk and tinted status bar, among others, but these seem like the ones that would affect it.
I have tried; rebooting; turning the device off, then removing sim card, then replacing, then turning on device; toggling airplane mode; enabling airplane mode then rebooting then disabling it; enabling airplane mode then powering off then removing sim card then replacing then powering on, and then disabling airplane mode. Nothing works, so anything else anyone might suggest would be great. I'm on the latest nightly 20140626, with the latest pa 4.4.4 mini modular 20140620 package. If any other information is required I'll provide it with apologies for inconvenience.

Thanks for taking the time to read,

Yes, thank you for help, but I've discovered that it was incompatibility with my TV which was the problem.

Hi guys, on the 07/01 nightly, under Settings > Interface there are navbar related settings. But there isn't a navbar on the screen. I know we have the hardware buttons on the Y300, but does anyone know if I can enable the navbar in any way?
    Thanks for reading

Hi there, thanks for the idea, I've just turned on swap using Swapper 2, but I haven't seen if it's preventing reboots yet. Thanks very much for helping though.
