  1. Can anyone recommend a good sturdy adapter I can use to secure my 501 whilst in the car? I'd hope I'd be able to find a brodit adapter, as the universal type never seem to hold the phone securely enough or are so ungainly I might have well have used gaffer tape, but It doesn't look like they make one. I've already got the dash mount kit for my Ford Focus so I've a good solid place to fix it to. Reply With Quote
  2. Worked fine, thanks for quick response. I've now a fully working M500 on O2
  3. Does anyone know if a Hard Reset would remove a SIM unlock performed by Orange on an M500? I was having problems unlocking my phone using the "other" methods available so gave in and got Orange to do it for me. It worked fine and am now using an O2 sim. Unfortunately after hard resetting before getting the phone un-officially unlocked, I've lost access to the MMS application so can't send MMS. I was hoping a Hard Reset would force the phone to reload it on reset from the extended rom. Can anyone help ? Will a reset put the lock back on ? or does anyone know how to get the MMS stuff back without a reset ?

Which cradle are you guy's using? I didn't think there was one available for the M500
  5. Hi I wonder if anyone can help. Has anyone installed a Parrot CK3100 Car kit to work in conjunction with a car amplifier instead of just using the head unit ? At the moment my JVC KD SH707 head unit is driving the 4 directly. The Parrot unit is wired inline though the included adapter cable to the JVC and automatically sends the sound to my cars speakers when I receive or make a call. The muting is done via the parrot control box. I don’t have a phone mute cable on the head unit so I’m not using the line out cables from the CK3100. (The JVC line-in is also taken up by my JVC CD changer) I want to add an amp into my setup to power the front speakers and a sub. The JVC has 3 pre-outs sets, front, back and sub. I’ll be sending the front and sub outputs to a 4 channel amp using the front channel for the front speakers and the rear channel on the amp for the sub. The rear speakers will continue to be powered off the head unit. I’m planning to run the front speaker wires back up to the head unit, where I’ll connect them to the existing ISO loom to feed off to the actual speakers via the existing car wiring. (Obviously won’t be connecting the front JVC ISO output up as well) Anyone know how can I get the CK3100 to work with this setup? At the moment think I’ve few possible solutions. -- I could just connect the CK3100 back inline on the front speakers after they’ve come back from the amp (as it is now in effect), but I’ve heard the relay in the parrot unit might not be able to cope with the higher amplified signal. Also this wouldn’t mute the sub. (Not the end of the world I can just turn the stereo down) -- I could swap the CK3100 to intercept the back speaker feed from the head unit and just manually turn the stereo down when I receive a call. -- I could purchase a speaker to line level adapter and take the combined audio & parrot audio, once its been through the parrot switch box to the amp. (Hoping this isn't the only way line level adapters tend to introduce noise into the feed) Anyone know if there are any adapter leads that would help? Or any other setups that would allow me to use the CK3100 with the amp?

Received the correct holder from expansys this morning. Fits fine. I'd recommend it.

Sounds like the expansys packing elves have been on the scrumpy again Sent mine back for replacement yesterday. Will update when they get back to me. Am hoping they can just swap and resend. Dont really want the hassle of refund and reorder from somebody else.

Solved it. Just checked the brodit web site. The 848626 holder is for the IPOD (very similar in size) the 848625 is the one for the Imate Jam / M500. So right bag. wrong holder. Doh! Thanks for you help chaps.

Looks that way doesn't it. Could I ask you guy's to post the model number of the part. I've got, well I think I've got a I-mate JAM passive holder with Tilt/Swivel. Stock Code 119615 Mfr SKU 848625 The item number on the back of the holder is 848626

Good point. Will send it back. Expansys are normally pretty good on compatibility so when I saw it listed under M500 accessories in conjunction with that post I thought it would be a safe bet. Oh well the search continues. If anyone knows of a good quality holder that isn't one of those generic bulky items, please post a link.

errr I wouldn't say this adapter fits the M500 at all well. Just wasted £30 on one from expansys. The Holder is about 5mm too wide. Securing groves within the adapter also too wide. M500 will either fall through into the back of the cradle or just fall out all together. Haven't bothered fitting to car as it plainly won't hold the phone in place. Look elsewhere this isn't the holder your looking for.

Anyone tried this one yet ?? http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=119614
  13. Don't buy this one... it doesn't fit the orange M500 http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=1...&asource=122565 The new squarer shape of the M500 means that the cradle is too shallow at the corners and to narrow in width Anyone recommend one that does ?
  14. CK3100 car kit & M500

Just in case anyone's interested, Yep they do. Took a lot of fiddling but function seem to be the same as the C500, which in general is very good. So ...... Voice dial works. Auto transfer of call from phone to kit and vice versa if you talking but say then leave or get into the car. Caller ID works Contact push works If you having problems with the kit picking up the phone and putting it in headset mode, you need to disable auto power off on the M500. It's symptom is the Ck3100 screen just saying parrot after power on and not linking to the phone. The M500 seems to disable the bluetooth when it's in lock mode, which is a pain, although an incoming call will wake it up enough to get the headset profile enabled.
