ATT ICS will not work without a tethering plan on your wireless account, but MEdia Net will work as long as you have the signal and the basic pay-as-you-go feature (not recommended). ATT ICS uses "isp.cingular" (tethering) whereas MEdia Net uses "wap.cingular" (general internet). Also, the ATT ICS and MEdia Net entries in the connection settings dialog are read only and won't let you edit them, But if you navigate to: HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4...}\Connections There will be 2 keys in there. one for ATT ICS and MEdia Net. In those keys there will be a value of ReadOnly. Change the value for these from 1 to 0 and reboot your phone. These connections should now be editable. 2. I just upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1 and it worked like a charm and from first glance it looks amazing however I am stuck with no Internet access. I am not using AT&T network and everything works fine (calls in/out) but the GPRS settings are locked to AT&T. I tried adding a new connection but it won't work since the pre-configured AT&T settings cannot be removed. Can anyone help me unlock the GPRS settings? Thanks

  7. Paul Reviews... the UBiQUiO 501

I enabled the portrait mode on my Ubiquio 501 and it still the games would not run properly. The games do load but there is some problem with the graphics driver which makes the games extremely slow. Its so slow infact that it seems like your watching a slowmontion replay. This is a Pocket PC not a smartphone which means it will run the games in whichever mode they are designed. This is not an issue for games which are designed to be played by the stylus but in some games where keys are required there might be a comfort issue since you will need to titl the phone to view it properly and the keys will be out of reach. But apart from that landscape and portrait is not an isse with Pocket PCs. I have an imate JAM and k-jam and I use the same games in both landscape and portrait modes without any problem.
  8. Paul Reviews... the UBiQUiO 501

DO NOT BUY Ubiquio 501 or i-mate JAQ3 they work great if you just want to use office applications but it will not run any games except for the really simple ones like solitaire. I tried running 50 games on it and only one worked properly. There is a problem with the graphics driver which causes problem in games and video playback. There is no official solution for it. And I could not find help for it anywhere else either.
  9. Please add support to SPV-Services for Cingular 3125 / I-mate Smartflip / Qtek 8500. Zone-MR has already created a script for CID unlocking but he did'nt have time to work on a SIM unlock method. I would'nt know the first thing about this but i'm sure there are people on this forum who could figure this out easily. Help us please!
  10. I was updating my new i-mate SP3 (typhoon) to the latest i-mate ROM 2.4.33.11 which completed successfully but now every time I turn on the phone it goes directly to the bootloader tri-color screen. I tried several times to update the ROM again but it does'nt help. It shows the proccess completed successfully but the phone is still stuck in bootloader mode. In the bootloader screen it shows the following IPL 1.00 SPL 2.5.0102 I even tried to flash the ROM through an image of Orange4114_ALL_SPL1010091 on a miniSD card but it gives an error message "Not allowed update!" Please help me figure out how to get my phone working again.
