Well wifi, gps, but I think everything comes with those which is why I left them off. Would like something with a CPU from the last 12-18 months so it's not a dog in use.

I'm thinking the S3 Mini for £239 might be the best bang for buck at the moment for a 4" phone.

Ok, SIII, I give in. You're just too big for me. Replacement advice please?
    Hi all,

So i've had an SIII for six months or so now. I've never been super comfortable with it. I've come to the conclusion it's too big for me.

So i'm looking for suggestions for the following:-

    - 4" screen
    - MHL/HDMI output (need this for Pioneer AppRadio2 in the car)
    - Preferably Android 4.2 support (or imminent)
    - Preferably with a bottom-mount usb port

I would consider an SIII Mini, but i've read conflicting reports about the MHL interface. Some say it has it, some say it doesn't, and I need it 100%.

    Your suggestions welcome folks.. :)

    Thanks

  3. mo_sjo added a post in a topic Reasonable replacement for a Nexus One?

Interesting stuff. I've dropped Brodit an email to find out if they're going to do a proclip for it as that's a critical factor for me too.

I guess i'll have to visit an Orange shop over the weekend and have a play with one :)

    Thanks guys..

Thanks. Don't suppose you've tested CoPilot on it?

Right, thanks for the clarification. This San Diego looks like it's filling a rather wide hole in the current offerings out there. Perhaps i'm missing something.

Sorry, I'm a bit lost. Are you saying there won't be any OTA updates for the San Diego?

What do you mean by no update support from Google?

Reasonable replacement for a Nexus One?
Could this be a reasonable upgrade from the original Nexus One? Slightly larger, similar weight, better screen (well higher resolution). I'm wondering if the CPU is likely to be faster though, 1.6ghz x86 vs 1ghz ARM?

I don't really like the huge size of the HTC One X, S3 etc. I just want something a bit faster (newer apps are bogging the N1 down these days). I also don't like the £500+ price tags!!

To follow up.. I called Asus support.. I was told to try powering it up by holding the up or down volume key and the power button (doesn't this go into the boot loader mode usually?).. Didn't work..

Then the guy tells me that you have to charge the tablet and keyboard seperately.. that is the official Asus statement.. the tablet is not designed to be charged via the keyboard.. I asked him to check his facts.. he argued he was correct and that it was the only answer I would get from Asus...

    Right.......

Mine is dead as of this morning. I plugged it all in last night (albeit with a flat battery) only to find this morning it will not switch on. I do not know if this is because I tried to charge it with a flat battery (fancy that?) or some other bug/fault. Not too impressed.

I ordered my TF101 last night from CPW at 17:45 and it arrived today, so their 5pm cut-off seems slightly flexible at least. Pleased with the unit so far, apart from it not appearing to want to charge via USB when hooked up to a computer, only the mains adapter it comes with.

Comet just called and said a delay means they can't deliver until May 9th. I told them to poke it and give me a refund.

I just ordered one from Comet with the 5OFF 5% discount. Earliest delivery date was 21st of April. I hope they don't let me down as i'm on holiday a few days later!

  15. mo_sjo added a post in a topic Issue with Voicemail Notifications and MMS (O2)

I got the Voicemail notifications working by re-configuring them within the voicemail settings at O2 themselves. A bit odd as it used to work before, but perhaps the method has changed or something - i'm not familiar enough with how that works at the back-end to speculate further.

Still working on the MMS side of things. A guy on xdadev gave me some settings which aren't working. Not sure if it's because i'm on a business tarriff or not.
