  1. Thanks Geeklord! I have since sold the phone but I have passed on your words of wisdom in the hope it is helpful to the new owner. Dave
  2. Thanks Geeklord. That sounds like a good idea. But how? Do I copy and paste an exe file into Start Menu?
  3. Good tip. But why doesn't xBackup work at all? Thanks, My WMA files do not appear to have been stored elsewhere. They are on the SD card, where they belong, but they do not get uploaded into the WMPlayer library
  4. Please help a newbie (i-mate JAM) Is my 1 GB to blame for these 2 error messages 1. When I try to back up using XBackup I get the following error message: "Unknown Backup Information Error" 2. When I try to import WMA files from my SD card into Media Player Library I get following error message: "The storage card media library cannot accept new entries due to a lack of storage space". But I know the SD card is only half full. Any help or advice appreciated! Thanks, Dave
  5. Yes. Folders: 3577a, GB-map, ITN, Palm, Raster, Schemes, System, TomTom, Voices & zip, and file setup.exe are all on the root of the card. Any suggestions? Thanks Dave
  6. I have just reinstalled TomTom Mobile 5 onto a new SD card. Now whenever I power the phone off TomTom disappears from the Start menu when I turn the phone back on. I then need to reactivate it from Smart Explorer program by navigating to Storage Disc...TomTom folder...2577 folder...and double clicking on the exe file. Tomtom then reappears in my Start Program list. Have I got an important launch or exe file stored in the wrong place? If so, where should it reside? Thanks, Dave
  7. What SD Card Are You Using?

Please help a newbie (i-mate JAM) Is my 1 GB to blame for these 2 error messages 1. When I try to back up using XBackup I get the following error message: "Unknown Backup Information Error" 2. 8. Factory Reset E200

What information is lost in doing a factory reset. I would expect all photos, contacts, calendar entries & programs to be lost and homescreens, etc to revert. But what about SIM unlock. Would my unlocked SPV E200 revert to orange or would it stay unlocked for my O2 pay & go SIM card? Does it affect what is on the SD storage card? Is "Clear Storage" function any different to Factory Reset? Thanks Dave
  9. TomTom Mobile SPVE200 BT problem

Thanks for sharing that. I might give it a try. I am a bit scared of doing a factory reset though. What other phone settings are affected? Dave
  10. Got it! Now I just can't seem to bond to the device
  11. OK, I got Smart Explorer installed. I have selected autorun.exe in 2577 folder. Question is, how to run it. I select the file and choose Open and nothing happens. I choose Run and it asks me for a Command. What do I type here? Thanks!
  12. Thanks for the suggestion. the problem is that I do not seem to have a File Manager type program on my E200. Is it hidden somewhere? Any recommendations for one to install?
  13. I am having trouble upgrading to TomTom Mobile 5 on my SPV E200. I can copy the files onto my SD card but the TomTom setup program does not appear at the bottom of my Start screen list, as it should. I know that the E200 has issues with certain brands of card but I have had TomTom 4 running on 2 types of card (unbranded & Viking) on previous occasions. When I browse folders on Multimedia Album, the TomTom folders are present but they do not appear on the Start screen to allow installation! I have tried many different ways of copying the files onto the root of the SD (Activesync, card reader), but the same end result. Is there an issue with Read Only/Hidden/Archive settings? Is there some other way to run the programs from the card? Please help!
  14. And now it works! simple as that. Thanks!
  15. I am having problems bonding my SPV E200 with a BT-77 Bluetooth GPS receiver for use with TomTom. I have ticked the Inbound COM6 & Outbound COM7 port options in BT Serial Port Setup (Settings/Configurations). Then in the Bluetooth menu I select Bonded Devices….Menu….1 New. After a minute or less “BT GPS” appears under Discovered Devices. So far, so good! When I click “Add” it prompts me to “Enter a Bluetooth PIN of your choice to bond with the BT GPS. The same PIN must be entered on both devices”. What number needs to be added here? How many digits? There is no obvious passkey in the GPS documentation or on the unit itself. I have tried serial numbers, etc but nothing works. I cannot simply bypass the screen by clicking “Done” and every number I enter leads to an error message which reads: “Your Device did not bond with BT GPS. The device could not be found or the Bluetooth PIN is wrong”. Is there some way around this? Do I need to enter a matching Bluetooth PIN somewhere on the E200? But How? Which Menu? There is a screen on E200 Bluetooth Settings which reads: Device Name: “Smartphone” Beam Authentication required (passkey) checkbox. What should be entered here? Getting really frustrated! Please help! :D Thanks Dave
