Paul, I think I know which slowness they optimize. HOX has a problem that when you write 500+ megs to /data, then IO becomes slow as hell (same on Nexus 7, lol). It has to do something with TRIM or something like that. I fix it by backing up /data and formatting partition.
Looks like they just drop TRIM/log/whatever in FS. And miracle happens! Lol.
ipv6? That's uber strange! Did Acer break radio? You can try blanking ipv6 functions to return errors and leave it "enabled" - I think many operators does not support ipv6. On the other hand Google might be using v4-to-6 gateways, so this workaround will fail...
A1 won't be usable until someone can do some magic to lower memory requirements. A1 will be usable only with swap DISABLED. Otherwise we get lags (from swapping) which sometimes causes reboots. Seems this task is unreal.
