  1. Charger and Headset Connector Combo?

Thanks for the reply...I figured out I had the bluetooth device backwards...needed a receiver not a transmitter. I'll check out the one you recommended. I was really hoping to find a cable to do this for me...some kind of splitter. - Ed
  2. Charger and Headset Connector Combo?

I found this: http://www.meritline.com/universal-bluetoo...tter-white.html Anyone use it? Seems like I would just be moving the charging issue over to this bluetooth device rather than my phone.
  3. I'm looking for an adapter that allows a charger and headphone converter to be connected to my Blackjack II at the same time. I'd like to be able to charge the phone in my car and listen to MP3s via my car's AUX input. I have both a car charger and a headphone converter for the BJII but of course you cannot use them both at the same time. Is there any adapter that allows a 3.5mm headphone plug plus a charger to connect at the same time? Seems like you could wire one to work. Sometimes my phone battery is almost dead or I am on a long trip so it would be nice to charge and listen at the same time. If there is no converter option is there some kind of Bluetooth to 3.5mm adapter I could use where the phone essentially pairs to the adapter like a stereo headset and then the adapter does not have speakers but instead pipes the music out to a 3.5mm plug? - Ed

Did one myself! Could use some work but good enough for me! BJII Blue Icon: sync.ico

Can I get one for the blue version of the phone please? ;) (it's got a white front)
  6. Incorrect Data Charges - any ideas?

My credit card is automatically charged by ATT...it's always the same amount...or within a few cents. Last month I just did not notice it was so high. I noticed right away this month and it is only about 30 days since the first high month bill...not too bad but not great. I got used to not reviewing the bill because it was fixed-price and always the same amount. Won't be making that mistake again. They will detail the charges, but only the data amount used...not the sites or IP addresses, etc. I think a bug or defect in the phone caused this. We have unlimited data on my phone and have no reason to run up per KB data charges on her phone.
  7. (cross post - sorry!) I've got an old Audiovox SMT5600 that my wife uses. Since the beginning of July or so we have been getting errors on, when the phone is not even being used, that say: Connectoin Error Unable to place call When we do use the phone to make a voice call, it says something like: Unable to place data call while in voice mode Well now it turns out that data calls of some kind must have been made because we have been billed over $350 US for data on that phone even though we NEVER use the internet on it. My wife does not even know how. One thing that she remembers is getting a MMS message with a photo attached...the photo never came through. When trying to get the photo to download that's when she remembers the error messages starting. Is it possible these are MMS data calls trying to download the photo over and over for 2 months now? ATT will not help and thinks we were just running up long internet sessions on the phone. Help!!!
  8. Help - Data Charges when not using data!

  9. Come on...no one else wants to do this or knows how? I'm constantly running out of storage space now because my Exchange box is so full and I check 2 other accounts and get lots of SMS messages. I've got to get this working! :)
  10. Email on Storage Card with AKU2 I had it setup so email/SMS/etc was saved to my miniSD storage card but now with the latest AKU2 ROM loaded that trick is not working. I
  11. Apparently this app works as a free SIM unlock for the Audiovox SMT5600 !!! Check out this post at: http://forums.cingular.com/cng/board/messa...message.id=5008 Post is pasted below: I have discovered how to unlock the 5600 so you can use other/local/foreign SIM cards First you have to Application Unlock the phone then SIM Unlock Instructions are as follows: i) run No Warez ii) run ResetSecurity.exe iii) check if still app locked with checklock.exe --- should be now app unlocked iv) run SPV-Services C500 unlock (ignore the fact that it say don't use with SMT 5600 as running previous 2 apps make it compatible) v) test with other service provider (eg T-Mobile) SIM --- result will be SIM unlocked No Warez, ResetSecurity.exe, checklock.exe and SPV-Services can easily be found via google search. (make sure you follow instructions for each program) This worked for my phone (ATTWS Audiovox SMT 5600). I already paid to unlock my Audiovox...can anyone verify this works...I may be sending mine in for a replacement that will need to be unlocked.
  12. Come on...let's get this thread going...or add a post with a link to a better thread with the steps to switch...please!!!
  13. Thx for the suggestion, hash, but I'd like to keep this thread on topic...can anyone confirm the steps above work and anwer my three questions? Hash...maybe you can start a new thread on the best data plan service to get for this phone. Thx, - Ed
  14. Ok…there’s lots of threads out there for unlocking the SMT5600, switching SIM cards, changing GPRS and WAP settings, etc…I’m trying to start one new thread covering all three topics, but specific for switching an ATTWS phone to Cingular and keeping the same phone number. There are probably lots of ATTWS customers with this phone looking to switch to Cingular to get Rollover minutes and the cheaper $19.99 unlimited data plan…this thread is for them! From what I can tell, here are the steps I think would work: 1) Unlock phone via: www.c500-unlock.com 2) Work with Cingular to setup new plan with them by getting a new FREE phone, but with your old ATTWS number ported over (this would disable ATTWS service and therefore the SIM I assume) 3) Put the SIM card from new FREE Cingular phone into the SMT5600 – voice calls should work right away with no changes needed 4) Change GPRS and WAP settings: found here 1. Go to Data Connections and select Menu and Edit Connections 2. Select Proxy then Menu then ADD Connects from : INTERNET Connects to : WAP Network Proxy( Name:Port) wireless.cingular.com:80 Done 1. Go to GPRS settings and select Menu and Add Connects to : WAP Network Access Point: wap.cingular (lower case) User Name : [email protected] (Upper case) Password : CINGULAR1 (Upper case) So…has anyone tried all this? Does it work? I’ve got several concerns/questions with this: 1) Will Cingular let you switch to them, and keep current number, if you are still under contract with ATTWS? 2) Is web surfing just as fast and functional (both WAP and HTML browsing) as with ATTWS? 3) ATTWS would not let you share minutes with this phone (something about being a data centric device)…anyone know if Cingular will let you share voice minutes with this phone and another, plus still have the $19.99 unlimited data plan on just this phone? Let’s detail all this in one nice thread for those of us wishing to make the switch! - Ed
