    Parcelforce just delivered mine.

The delivery guy asked what it was and said they had 'thousands' of identical parcels to deliver.

Phone currently downloading the update. Not impressed that there is a grammatical error on the download screen: "This could take up to 5 minute."

Unbelievable that the app has the menu button of shame on my HTC One.

I think it's more that it will only be called the Nexus 5 if it is 5 inches. If it is 4 inches then it would be called Nexus 4 like the new Nexus 7 has the same name.

  4. AshtonBRSC added a post in a topic Three slash the price of their 'unlimited' One Plan

@jigjags Is that £12 with tethering included? That's the important bit of the One Plan for me.

With around £60 of quidco/topcashback for a 12 month contact, this would work out at around £10 a month.

  6. AshtonBRSC added a post in a topic Au revoir, Astrid... Yahoo! acquires popular tasks app

I love how blog posts announcing acquisitions say how thrilled they are to be acquired. I'm sure they are, but users often aren't - especially when, like in this case, being given 90 days notice of something (being shut down? They don't really say).

My usual reaction is to look for an alternative straight away unless I am sure that the product will continue.

  7. AshtonBRSC added a post in a topic Why don't handset manufacturers trust us to see the real battery level?

I much prefer an accurate text version, especially when I am down to 10%. Much easier than trying to work out whether red means switch off now. Although the battery can still suddenly fall and catch me out.

Is there any way to test this without having a Note 2? I would add it to my app but I don't want to risk realising a broken implementation.

I don't think the differences in price are as bad as they used to be.

And too many people forget UK prices include VAT which is higher now than ever before.

I agree with r1ch1e about the screen size. If the tablet is big then the phone should be small.

And why is it launching with ICS?

  11. AshtonBRSC added a post in a topic O2's next HTC Smartphone to be sold sans charger

Meanwhile Carphone Warehouse is making the problem worse by selling chargers for 1p from their new app!

The main annoyance I have is too many phone chargers that aren't powerful enough to charge tablets.

Can you confirm that it comes with the bluetooth stylus?

Definitely looking forward to seeing how you get on with it. I'm still tempted to get it even after all this time.

  13. AshtonBRSC added a post in a topic Google Nexus 7 gets shockingly reasonable pricing for the UK

I was so impressed by the price that I immediately ordered two.

I'm very interested to know how much Amazon will (now) price whatever tablet they (presumably) will release in the UK. I really hope this helps Google get people back on to an up to date Android with Google Play as opposed to Amazon's out of date Gingerbread.

  14. AshtonBRSC added a post in a topic Three UK increasing contract prices by 3.6%

    @Sebianoti

You should be ok. The article says "This applies to all customers except those who joined on or after 8th March 2012".

This is just treating loyal customers badly not discouraging new customers.

Well, T-Mobile and Orange have done this as well already, so we'll see if O2 and Vodafone follow suit.
