1. Paul, I don't think it will work as is. Here's the output of ls -l /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/ from I9505G: aboot -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p6 apnhlos -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 backup -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p24 boot -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p21 cache -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p18 efs -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p10 fota -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p23 fsg -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p25 m9kefs1 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p13 m9kefs2 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p14 m9kefs3 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p15 mdm -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 misc -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p19 modemst1 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p11 modemst2 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 pad -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p9 param -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p20 persdata -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p27 persist -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p17 recovery -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p22 rpm -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p7 sbl1 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 sbl2 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p4 sbl3 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p5 ssd -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p26 system -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p16 tz -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p8 userdata -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p28 Looking at the updater-script on Part 1, I see that it mounts /dev/block/mmcblk0p29 as /data. It won't work for I9505G since /data on it should be mounted at /dev/block/mmcblk0p28. I can try modifying the updater-script accordingly, but I wasn't sure if there are other implications. I know other ROMs (such as CyanogenMod 10.2 nightlies) and recoveries mitigate this by switching to the "by-name" syntax, e.g. mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system", "/system");
Not sure why this can't also work here, seeing as you are doing it in the same script (line 104)
2. (Im)patiently waiting for CM compatibility. Question. Will this work on the GS4 GPe variant (jgedlte/I9505G)? The only difference between this and the GS4 International (jfltexx/I9505) is a slight partition change, and even that is taken care of on most recoveries (latest CWM for jfltexx is fully compatible with jgedlte, and there is a build of TWRP for it) and custom ROMs by switching to the "byname" mount syntax.
3. Setting up new users works fine on Galaxy Nexus running latest CM10.1 nightly, but the Reboot dialogue doesn't allow for switching. [Edit] Woops, nevermind. Had user switching disabled on the Power menu. All is working correctly now!
4. adb reboot bootloader
Check your current version on that screen.
5. Galaxy Nexus launch day, how did it go?

Worst. Global. Launch. Evar.
6. How do you feel about buying Gameloft games?

I voted "Only Android Market" but then remembered that the shameful 15 minute return window pretty much guarantees that I wouldn't be able to refund any of the Gameloft games because it takes longer to download the HD content once the game is installed.
7. Good stuff here! Question. Motorola MB502 Charm is a US (and recently India) only device that supposedly is identical to Flipout hardware-wise. Are there any de-branded images available for it?
8. MCR r21 Archive

Good catch. Will re-partitioning the SD Card via sdparted (or Clockwork/Amon_Ra recovery) fix this?
9. MCR r21 Archive

Having boot loop issues. I'm coming from the original "stock" Froyo ROM with Cyanogen's quick rooter. I have Amon_Ra's recovery v1.7.0.1. I'm running Froyo's new radio (4.06.00.12_7). I'm doing a full wipe (data/factory reset, cache, Dalvik-cache, SD:ext, battery and rotate) then flashing the r17. My 8GB SD Card is partitioned with 6.5GB Fat32 -> 1GB Ext4 -> some space for Linux-swap (left over from back when I was on CM5). Here's the output of "mount" from recovery console: mount -a / # mount mount rootfs on / type rootfs (rw) tmpfs on /dev type tmpfs (rw,relatime,mode=755) devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,relatime,mode=600) proc on /proc type proc (rw,relatime) sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw,relatime) /sys/kernel/debug on /sys/kernel/debug type debugfs (rw,relatime) /dev/block/mtdblock4 on /cache type yaffs2 (rw,nodev,noatime,nodiratime) /dev/block/mtdblock3 on /system type yaffs2 (rw,relatime) /dev/block/mtdblock5 on /data type yaffs2 (rw,relatime) /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 on /sdcard type vfat (rw,relatime,fmask=0000,dmask=0000,allow_utime=0022,codepage=cp437,iocharset= so8859-1,shortname=mixed,errors=remount-ro) /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 on /sd-ext type ext4 (rw,relatime,barrier=1,data=ordered) / # I baked it with the kitchen with the following settings: Core + Calculator + Car Home + Email + Live Wallpapers + Maps + Voice Dialer + Voice Search + YouTube + Facebook + PDF Viewer + Quickoffice + Twitter + Development Tools + Spare Parts + 2.1 build.prop + Adobe Flash 2.1 Beta + A2SD+. No radio, or any other "custom ingredients." Once I flash this zip and reboot, the phone gets into a boot loop with the following logcat: --------- beginning of /dev/log/main I//system/xbin/busybox( 53): rm: /data/dalvik-cache: is a directory
