  6. LATEST ODIN v3.10.7 & ODIN 1.85 & ALL ODIN MULTI DOWNLOADER VERSIONS ROM Flashing Tools for ALL Samsung smartphones zip packed binaries, i.e. .exe files INFO: Odin is the ROM Flashing Tool for SAMSUNG smartphones. ROM files flashable with Odin come with .tar extension. Most of the ROMs you are going to flash with Odin are the official stock Samsung ROMs (or leaked stock ROMs). Custom ROMs are rerely flashable by Odin because they come with .zip extension that Odin does not recognize (it recognizes .tar files). Custom kernels, however, are sometimes provided in .tar format by their developers (e.g. CF-Root kernels), so that they can be flashed by Odin. When your phone is new and running official firmware you most often cannot flash a custom ROM to it because a Samsung phone often requires a custom recovery and root rights that are included in a custom kernel to be able to flash custom ROMs. That's why Odin often comes in handy in rooting and flashing a custom firmware to your phone because you (often) can flash a custom kernel with it that already includes root and custom recovery and enables you to flash custom firmware (custom ROMs). I use the word "often" very frequently in the previous sentence because every Samsung smartphone is different and requires various procedures for rooting it and flashing custom ROMs (see the section about using Odin below). If it comes to stock ROMs, the best source of stock (official) Samsung ROM files is located at this excellent website: SamMobile.com/firmwares (link). It requires registration (it's free) and I encourage you to set up an account there because you will most likely use this site several times during your stay at XDA. :) You will most likely come across 1 .tar or 3 .tar file ROMs there, flashable by Odin. Refer to the Odin flashing guide below for more info. Below in this thread you can download Odin v3.09, v3.07, v3.06, v3.04, v1.85, v1.83 and all important versions of Odin Multi Downloader. However, bear in mind that not every Samsung smartphone can be flashed using any Odin version. In fact, for every Samsung smartphone there's a specific Odin version compatible with it. Please refer to the tables below to learn which Odin version is compatible with your phone! To use Odin with ANY Samsung phone you first need to properly install latest Samsung USB Drivers for Mobile Phones. You can download the drivers in this thread (link). They work for all Samsung smartphones. In that thread there is a full guide on installing the drivers on Win 8/7/Vista/XP x86 & x64. HOW TO USE ODIN: There are various ROM .tar files for various Samsung smartphones that require various (again) methods of flashing with Odin. Please ALWAYS refer to the sticky guide threads in your phone's designated XDA subforum and the first post in the topic of the ROM you are going to flash on how to EXACTLY flash the ROMs .tar files with Odin to your phone. If after reading those threads you are still in doubt, feel free to ask questions in your phone's designated Q&A subforum (Questions & Answers). Doing that will save you from damaging your phone! Here (link) is a very good GENERAL guide made by Intratech on how to use Odin with various .tar and .pit files. You will learn there what are CODE/PDA, PHONE/MODEM and CSC .tar files, what are .pit files and what all Odin switches mean and when to use them. samsung usb driver drivers adb fastboot odin for dla do samsung samsunga galaxy s1 s2 s3 si sii siii 1 2 3 i ii iii y plus ace ace2 mobile phone smartphone smartphones windows win 7 8 vista xp x86 x64 win8 win7 windows7 windows8 android tablet tab sterownik sterowniki i9300 i9100 i9000 N7000 N7100 flash flashing tools ROM CyanogenMod Cyanogen Paranoid ParanoidAndroid CM10 10 CM10.1 10.1 CM9 9 ICS JB IceCream Sandwich Jelly Bean JellyBean SlimBean GB Gingerbread Android Debug Bridge odin 1.83 odin 1.85 odin 3.06 odin 3.07 odin 3.04 odin 3.09
  7. LATEST SAMSUNG USB DRIVERS FOR MOBILE PHONES 1.5.55.0 FOR WINDOWS 10 / 8 / 7 / Vista / XP / x86 (32 bit) & x64 (64 bit) installable via "setup.exe" OR via "have disk" method AND LATEST ADB & FASTBOOT TOOLS (.exe files) ADB & Fastboot unpacked from Android SDK <<< DOWNLOAD LINKS BELOW! >>> INFO: This driver is the latest as of 25.12.2015. This driver works on Win 8 & 7 & Vista & XP, 32 and 64 bit. This driver allows you to use Odin, ADB and Fastboot interfaces with your phone. You can also download latest Odin, ADB & Fastboot Tools below. ADB and Fastboot binaries are latest as of 25.12.2015 WHAT'S THE HASSLE: Samsung Drivers package's installation mechanism doesn't work on Windows 8 for many people (driver installation doesn't even start), so the point is that the drivers have to be installed manually. In order to do this I unpacked Samsung Drivers package .exe file using UniExtract 1.6.1 (link) so that the drivers can be installed via "have disk" method. I used these drivers succesfully in Windows 8 Enterprise x64 to connect my SGS i9000 to ODIN3 1.3. Odin sees the phone and can flash firmware, reformat partitions etc. INSTALLATION 1: 1. Download the driver INSTALLER. 2. Uninstall previous Samsung USB drivers from "Programs And Features" and "Device Manager". 3. Run the installer "USB_Drivers_1.5.27.0.exe" and proceed with the installation steps, finish the installation and restart your computer. 4. Connect it to your computer via USB cable. 5. If your phone is still not correctly recognized by Odin and the driver installer finished installation successfully - skip the 2nd method and use the 3rd. If drivers didn't install correctly (e.g. the installer failed to launch or failed to finish installation) - try the 2nd method first. INSTALLATION 2: 1. Download the driver RAR ARCHIVE. 2. Uninstall previous Samsung USB drivers from "Programs And Features" and "Device Manager". 3. Unpack USB_Drivers.rar to some location, eg. C:\. 4. Run the installer from "C:\USB_Drivers\SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones\setup.exe" and proceed with the installation steps, finish the installation and restart your computer. 5. Switch your Samsung phone into download mode (i9000: power it on with Power + Vol UP + Home pressed simultanously). 6. Connect it to your computer via USB cable. 7. If your phone is still not correctly recognized by Odin - try the 3rd method. INSTALLATION 3: 0. This is the "have disk" method. You have to follow every step in this guide 1. Download the driver RAR ARCHIVE. 2. Uninstall previous Samsung USB drivers from "Programs And Features" and "Device Manager". 3. Unpack "USB_Drivers.rar to some location, eg. C:\. 4. Switch your Samsung phone into download mode (i9000: power it on with Power + Vol UP + Home pressed simultanously). 5. Connect it to your computer via USB cable. 6. Your phone should become discovered by Windows as some device. In my case, Windows has found my SGS i9000 as a "Gadget Serial" device. 7. Go to Windows Device Manager. Right click on the device your phone has been discovered as (eg. "Gadget Serial" in my case) and choose "Update driver" option from the context menu. 8. Choose "Search my Computer...", check "Include subfolders" option and point the updater to the folder where you've had unpacked the drivers .rar archive to, eg. C:\USB_Drivers. 9. The driver should install automatically. 10. It may happen that after the installation some new "unknown device" ("Samsung Modem" in my case) would appear in the Device Manager. Complete 7 & 8 step for that device and any other new device that may appear afterwards. 11. Restart your computer. 12. Done! samsung usb driver drivers adb fastboot odin for dla do samsung samsunga galaxy s1 s2 s3 si sii siii 1 2 3 i ii iii y plus ace ace2 mobile phone smartphone smartphones windows win 7 8 vista xp x86 x64 win8 win7 windows7 windows8 android tablet tab sterownik sterowniki i9300 i9100 i9000 N7000 N7100 flash flashing tools ROM CyanogenMod Cyanogen Paranoid ParanoidAndroid CM10 10 CM10.1 10.1 CM9 9 ICS JB IceCream Sandwich Jelly Bean JellyBean SlimBean GB Gingerbread Android Debug Bridge odin 1.83 odin 1.85 odin 3.06 odin 3.07 odin 3.04
  8. You've got a choice between many Froyos and only two developing Gingerbread ROMs. The obvious choice is Gingerbread, because simply put it is faster. So you have a choice between CyanogenMod 7 and Ginger Stir Fry. While CM7 in SOME respect (not all) is faster than GSF, GSF is much more reliable and stable, e.g. it doesn't have any serious bugs, while CM7 still has its flaws (e.g. FM Radio not working among other things). GSF has also considerably better battery life, so I would go for it. GSF at the moment cannot be overclocked because we don't have the new kernel source, but I tell you - it is faster than overclocked Froyos. GSF - it's fast and it just works.
  9. But how about Gen 1and 2? If he's on Gen2 now (by tpt method) and his stock ROM is gen1, wouldn't he break his device if he flashes the stock rom?
  10. While even ZTE official froyo updates upgrade your phone to Gen2, I can see no point in staying with Gen1 (because even ZTE have chosen to stick to Gen2). Upgrade your phone with wbaw's excellent TPT method and try his Ginger Stir Fry beta7 ROM. It's one of the fastest and most stable ROMs, and it's the latest Android 2.3.4!
  11. rootexplorer - the best file manager vital player - for watching movies swiftp - upload to and download files from your phone over wifi using PC fpt clients such as Directory Opus or Total Commander (and many other) LauncherPro - the fastest launcher/homescreen app, replace the standard froyo or gingerbread launcher with its better version widgetsoid - allows you to create your own, very customised power widget and place it on your homescreen maybe not anordinary app in the strictest sense but: apply wbaw's tpt repartition image and flash ginger stir fry, an android mod based on the recently leaked latest android 2.3.4 from ZTE, excelent ROM
