  1. Hi I installed GB_BP_P743V1.0.0B01.zip using ClockWorkMod as few weeks back and found it works well. Today I installed GPS Status & Toolbox (EclipSim) and GPS Test (Chartcross Limited). When running these Apps I noticed that I'm not getting the Latitude/Longitude information - even though 3 satellites are usually in view. Does anyone else use these Apps ? Has anyone else noticed this problem ? Thanks in advance.

  3. ZTE Skate Stock ROMs

@bloomsan Just wanted to let you know that by your clear advice/instructions I managed to load GB_BP_P743V1.0.0B01.zip using ClockWorkMod to my OMC - and its working great. The only surprise was that when installing ClockWork I was asked to install android_winusb.inf (remember if using XP then XP version) and winusbcoinstaller2.dll - even though these were previously installed when unlocking. Thanks again bloomsan.
  4. ZTE Skate Stock ROMs

A very BIG thank you. You gave me the confidence to give it a go. Wish me luck.
  5. ZTE Skate Stock ROMs

Thanks so much bloomsan. I've been trying to load my OMC with GB_BP_P743V1.0.0B0x.zip (did not realise that there are 2 versions ! and that some can be done by CW and others by FTM). From what you say GB_BP_P743V1.0.0B01.zip can be installed by Clockwork (with NO MAC address problems) and B04 must be installed by FTM (giving MAC address problems). Where can I find/download GB_BP_P743V1.0.0B01.zip (looked in this thread and could only find B04). Also refer to Post #45 by xiaoyaoswim (26dec11) - To run the FTM flash tool will cause loss of your NVitems. So if you want flash stock ROMs by the FTM flasher, you will have to back up a qcn file by QPST beforehand and then restore it after using FTM flasher. I've been trying to load my OMC with a Stock ROM for a few weeks and after Unlocking OMC have spent my time sifting through the miles of posts that lead me from one place to another. Hopefully the issue of using FTM/Clockwork is settled. Do you have any more tips for my endeavour. PS: Noticed that the contents of some Stock ROM ZIP files contain different number of files er. 3 or 16 files. Does this give an indication how they can be used eg. by CW of by FTM ? 3x - boot.img, recovery.img, system.img 16x - boot.img, recovery.img, system.img, amss.mbn, amsshd.mbn, appsboot.mbn, appsboothd.mbn, cefs.mbn, dest-10.ini, oemsbl.mbn, oemsblhd.mbn, partition.mbn, partition_zte.mbn, qcsbl.mbn, qcsblhd_cfgdata.mbn, recovery.img, splash.img PPS: If you install CW do you loose FTM and if so can you get back FTM ? Thanks a million.
  6. ZTE Skate Stock ROMs

I would like to load the Stock ROM GB_BP_P743V1.0.0B04.zip onto my Orange MC. Can this be done using ClockWork OR FTM ? You mention 'you need to restore the modified QCN again' - Are there any instructions on eg. loading a stock GB_BP_P743V1.0.0B04.zip onto Orange MC ? - I am totally confused.
  7. Using your instructions to load Stock ROM GENERIC_P743V1.0.0B19 Hello tillaz I just managed to unlock my OMC, with some difficulty - Drivers, and would like to load the Stock ROM GENERIC_P743V1.0.0B19 (a ZIP file). Will your instructions from http://android.modac...l-a-custom-rom/ work with the ZTE ROM. Also, do you know if there are any issues eg. loose MAC address or any other known problems to watch out for. Thanks in advance. JoJo Thu12jan12
  8. Hello WCR4_6

Can you let me know how you managed to get the ZTE stock ROM onto the Orange MC ?

    Thanks

Re: "put the image onto the SD and invoke a hardware update from the phone settings" route.

Did you manage to update from an Orange MC to ZTE Stock ROM ?

How did you get it done. Do you have the steps and/or links.<...

  9. ZTE Skate Stock ROMs

Re my previous post - the ZTE SKATE STOCK ROM I was referring to is GENERIC_P743V1.0.0B19 post #33 by KapTmaH (17nov11) which is in ZIP file format.
  10. ZTE Skate Stock ROMs

Going back to my Post #44: I've managed to Unlock the Orange MC. What I want to do now is install the ZTE SKATE STOCK ROM (at least for now). I've seen the ZTE SKATE STOCK ROM available as a ZIP file. 1. Can I install the ZTE SKATE STOCK ROM over the Orange MC ROM using the FTM and the ZTE Offline Flasher ? or will the ZTE Flasher only accept updating/replacing the same 'type' of ROM eg. will only update OUK_P743TV1.0.0B05 or higher version of same (ie. OUK) ? 2. If the ZTE STOCK ROM can replace the Orange MC ROM do I need to root or can I use as ? Thanks in advance.
  11. I'm astonished to say the least - after 5 days status shows 60%. OK with no Apps running or real usage except a test call made everyday (just to make sure the battery indicator isn't saying 90% but runs out of battery when dialing). But as I said I'm very surprised. I've got an Orange MC that has been unlocked and thats it - no Apps installed. This is great. Not even my very old Nokia 3310 (without any real usage) gave this performance.
  12. Thanks JCMYALL. Will give it a go. Will play about with theGen2_TPT.zip tool offline to get to know it. BTW the Gen2_TPT.zip is meant for ZTE Blade/Orange San Francisco - is it compatible with Orange Monte Carlo ?

  14. Jargon is unfortunately inevitable but I do think that the OMC forum could be made to better use of by Newbies and Gurus if some step by step guides are put together to: a) Unlock Phone Guide - there are some but Driver problems seem to be a killer. I think with some thought we can even sort that one out. B) Installing Drivers Guide - Have seen one but as this seems to be a big problem for many have to consolidate info to make things easier for all. eg. Have Control Panel screen shots showing what should be there and how to get what isn't present. c) Installing Stock ROM Guide - cant seem to find a real step by step method. eg. download this stock then do this and that. d) Installing Custom ROM Guide - Again those present need to consolidate and expand with some clear instructions. Newbies (like me) will have a clear path to follow to get basic things done. Intermediate users can have more space to discuss real matters and Gurus can excel in developing deeper. As I see it Newbies are lost, Intermediate and Gurus are spending time helping Newbies - like me. If anyone with the know how wants help in developing a guide or expanding a guide to one of the above let me know and I can put time into it. Thanks
  15. Thanks jcmyall So if I understand you well to upgrade from original Orange 2.3.4 to ZTE Stock that is at 2.3.5 I need to do the following: * Download TWM_Fantastic_T3_Root_Packge * Download the ZTE Stock ROM * Install Clockwork Mod (from TWM_F_T3_R_P) * Flash the ZTE Stock ROM (by placing ZIP file onto SD card ???) * Run Install_Android2.3.5_root.bat (from TWM_F_T3_R_P) - presumably as ZTE ROM is 2.3.5 You mention to reflash the original boot.img. Where can I get the BOOT.IMG file and how is it flashed. I think I'm in the wrong thread. Is there another more applicable thread. Thanks again.
