  1. To be honest, I don't know anything about iPhone icons. What I do know is that high resolution icons consume more RAM and make the phone slower. That's why I always used the native iconset even with themed front ends.
  2. I honestly don't know if the link I found for you will work, but you asked for a specific version, so there you have it. I used to have Skype on my omnia and it worked. I just don't remember which version it was. Anyway, sorry if I wasn't helpful. Boris, I kept my omnia for three years and I was happy to use it again when I had to send my android for repairs. It was and still is a great phone for everyday use. On the other hand, it is also true that using wifi drains its battery too fast and browsing the internet is a pain when compared to a modern device. There is no Viber available and Skype doesn't suppoft video calls. The cheapest android nowdays can do all that easily. I actually installed android on a friend's HTC HD2 and he's still using that! Too bad I couldn't do the same on the omnia. Still, it's good that you keep this thread. I'm sure a lot of people benefit. I too get nostalgic from time to time! Thanks.
  3. Actually, I can't confirm it. My omnia is quietly waiting as a backup phone just in case my android breaks. I read this thread by chance when I installed Tapatalk, so I thought I'd answer. The i900 was a great phone. I don't feel the same about WinMo. Too bad the AndrOmnia project didn't make it!
  4. Skype is on Softpedia. Didn't take more than a sec to search on Google! http://handheld.softpedia.com/progDownload/Skype-Pocket-PC-Download-25389.html
  5. Yonn i900 ROMs

Since we haven't heard from Master Yonn for quite a while now, I decided to try a few other ROMs. I found OCK's Eclipse ROM to be very stable. I could also install Yonn's HS++ v2 front end from his own cab file. The only thing that needed fiddling witn was that I had to make a new 'clog.lnk' inside the windows folder pointing to 'CallLog.exe'. I also had to set from scratch all the shortcuts in the 'Shortcuts tab'. From that point on, everything went like clockwork. I could even set the weather to auto-update and i haven't had to reboot for weeks!

Using SPB Droid ROM 23 May 2011 and want to gain some precious RAM? There is a workaround! 1) Use The Droid Pro+ manager and set the middle button to start the SPB Launcher (I prefer Advanced) instead of the Windows Start Menu. 2) Install this app (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=350834&d=1277661549) to completely disable the Windows Start Menu After a soft reset you'll notice a huge gain in RAM and speed! This workaround probably works with any installation of SPB Mobile Shell.

Hi everyone! Playing with the StartMenu IconSet using the JWMD Icon Changer the other day, I realized that HighRes icons have a huge impact on free RAM. Since our Omnia doesn't have lots of it (by today's standards), there are two ways to face the problem. 1) We can use a simple (perhaps even monochrome) icon set that we have converted to 32x32 pixels. That could be something based on the GTX style for example. 2) We can use a Start Menu replacement which takes up a lot less RAM, even with more sophisticated icons, but tends to be somewhat more unstable. I guess it's up to the users and Master Yonn himself to decide.

Hi Master Yonn, Are you still with us? You've been quiet for almost three months now. Are you still working on your new ROM?
  9. Yonn i900 ROMs

Hi Yonn and everyone in the forum. I'm using HS++ V2.01 ROM 9 June 2011 (Zerocache XPR) and I'm experiencing trouble with "[email protected] CM WiFi Internet Sharing" (http://www.mediafire.com/?1yyikoxtny1). The program installs correctly, starts correctly, connects to 3G internet but when I search for the router from another machine it doesn't exist! Please note that the other machine is configured to search not only for Access Points but also for Ad Hoc devices. I even tried to turn on WiFi manually from the Omnia's Connections Manager before turning on the router but without success. WiFi works correctly on my Omnia in every other aspect. For those who don't know what I'm talking about this is a little HTC utility that turns our beloved Omnia into a WiFi Router and allows us to share our 3G connection with other machines. It's reaaly useful and I'v been using it with other ROMs in the past. Can anyone help?

Hey, Rodrigo. I'm happy to have helped you. Did you try the Black dialer, or the Sector/Ryrzy one? Some of my friends don't like black and keep asking...

First you need to set up your e-mail account in pocket-outlook. After that you can go to email tab, hit the (!) button and write the name of your account there (example "My_Gmail - not your e-mail address). Take care to write exactly the same name as you wrote in poutlook. The tab is case sensitive!

You won't get any major errors if you don't set the weather to auto-update. I' ve been using it this way for several days now and haven't had to reboot. For the SMS tab to work you need to associate an email account with the email tab. then you just use the arrows to refresh. As Master Yonn himself said:

Hi Chefs, This is off topic, I know, but i'm just throwing an idea to all the chefs around here. Today I tested the Android 2.2 (witu) i900 (http://sites.google.com/site/wituandroid22fixedrussian/download). I noticed that I could charge my omnia using the data cable and a stock USB charger!!! This cannot be done with a normal windows ROM. Now, there are cables on the market for this purpose, but if someone could just hack the ROM... Anyone interested to investigate and perhaps start a new thread?
  14. Anyone can test the "witu i900 Android 2.2" (the 2.2.1 is in russian only). You don't have to change your ROM, you just run it from windows. The thing is that the project is still in alpha stage and the phone, bluetooth, wifi and gps functionality is not yet implemented. If only there was wifi functionality, it would be nice to run viber (!) on our omnias... By the way, my omnia i900 running Android 2.2 can be charged using the standard data cable and any USB charger, something that you can't do while running windoze. Any ideas how to hack windows to allow this functionality?

Hi Yonn! I'm happily using your HS++v2.01 ROM and I noticed another little problem with the 3G dialer this time. While I have S2U2 installed and configured it to show fullscreen caller picture in incoming calls, I get the dialer's skin instead and a default picture only. In fact, I can see the S2U2 screen for a fraction of a second and then the dialer's skin takes over. Changing S2U2 settings made no difference. The problem was solved by installing the B7300 Black 3G dialer (http://www.filestube...g-Muncheno.html). Looks like you should consider cooking a different dialer into your next ROM. By the way, has anyone tried the Sector/Ryrzy dialer from here? --> (http://www.modaco.co...s-for-i900i910/) Thanks again for the greatest ROMs ever! Hope to have helped a bit by bug-reporting.
