  1. If it can be rooted and develops a bit of a mod community - then looks fab. If they hamstring root access for devices and don't upgrade much (like the Smart Ultra 6) then it's a disappointment...
  2. Hey all, I have one of those SU6s that will not root easily, with the protected RW issue. My understanding is that I can get TWRP & root using guides here (I have done this in the past), but I would need to implement the adblocking details via a flashable zip - but I have absolutely no idea how I go about this or what that file should contain. The main reasons I want root is to use Titanium Backup (which will work) and AdBlocking (currently not working). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  3. Hey all, I have a weird issue, my su6 has (always I think) had a strange white line running across the middle of the screen, maybe an inch from the bottom. It's mainly visible when viewing white pages, I initially thought it was something on the pages I was viewing, but I've since discovered it's the phone itself. It's really minor, and is only visible on bright/white screens, but really annoys me. I assume (a) this can't be easily fixed and (b) I'm well within my rights to get a replacement from carphone warehouse? Anyone else experience anything similar?
  4. Oh actually, this worked for me (was able to set language as English (Ireland). Thanks!
  5. Wish they had a language for English (Ireland). It's super minor, but if you use the Engligh (UK) language, then swiftkey has the £ symbol on the X key, whereas if it's English (Ireland) it's the € symbol. I need the € much more than the £...
  6. This worked for me after 2 attempts. Oddly when I ran King root it told me it failed and suggested I use the desktop app. I curiously checked for any OTA updates and it told me I looked to be rooted, and terminal confirmed. Random, but nice one OP!
  7. Hello all. I picked up one of these phones yesterday and so far, so impressed. One thing is bothering me, I can't seem to get OTA updates or acquire root. Would appreciate help with either. My phone is Irish, and is running the IE02C version. As far as I know there should be at least 1 update beyond this for Ireland. Have tried to find update, no joy. I switched to UK version (via links here), and again tried to update OTA, no joy (and as far I as I can tell there are possibly 2 updates available for UK). It's all very strange. With regards to getting root, I have tried Kingo & Wondershare MobileGo, both fail for me. From what I've read, these should have worked very easily. I miss my titanium backup & adblocker, any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!
  8. Mam or mum? (or something else?)

  9. Shagballs. There goes my twitter/facebook user experience out the window. Any recommendations Paul?
  10. I always thought Europe was bigger than just 4 countries... It gets pretty old the way the likes of Ireland/etc get totally overlooked yet again...

  14. Is the free credit tied to the Google Play store for UK? (I'm in Ireland). Does it run phone or tablet OS?
  15. Using a HTC sensation here, and my random fact is that I am in the process of moving out, but am currently procrastinating by reading twitter/modaco/google reader :)
