  1. Lollipop OTA update now available in the UK

I updated to 5.0.2 last night. The most significant thing I noticed was that, unlike previous 'new OS updates' you don't lose anything; all system settings, storage contents and downloaded apps are retained. There is no need to register on Google (and sync contacts, etc.., input WiFi details) or re-install apps from Play Store. After the install the visual appearance of the initial home screen is exactly the same, wallpaper, apps on home, everything is just the same. I haven't found any problems yet. Do the moderators think we should use this thread to show details of any apps that don't work with Lollipop or create a new thread?
  2. Lollipop OTA update now available in the UK

I downloaded the updater service a while ago. The notification asked me to ensure I had downloaded it. I didn't do anything else with settings or whatever.
  3. Are these the best budget devices?

The dimensions of the Moto E 2015 are almost the same as the Moto G 1st gen.
  4. Lollipop OTA update now available in the UK

My phone is a Moto G first gen (XT1032). I've just had notification from Motorola to say that they are preparing my phone for the update and asking me to ensure I have the Motorola Update Services app installed.
  5. Hudl 2 rooted!

Thanks Paul. I've installed the Google Now Launcher, it looks good.
  6. Hudl 2 rooted!

Is it possible to revert to the Tesco Launcher after I've installed Google Home launcher if I don't like it?
  7. How best to flush away the accumulated crap?

I use an app called 360 Security. It has loads of functions but one called 'Phone Cleaner' clears trash files, privacy history and corrupt APK's and frees up 'megabytes of storage'.
  8. I've tried quite a few custom ROM's including: CM10 Gamer by jaccs, CM10.1 Expert V4 Final by toliao, CM10.1 Cyano-S4 by tirimosqui and several SimKat ones. I'm now CM11.0 CyanogenMod by dazzozo and I think the latter is the best.
  9. Flame – Firefox OS Reference Phone goes on pre-sale

  10. OK done that. You're brilliant. I've now installed the latest TWRP (as per your instructions), dazzozo's KitKat and the Gapps he recommends. Time to play.
  11. Thanks very much for all your help. I'm sorry to be thick. But do you mean copy the TWRP_2.7.0.1 zip file onto the root directory of SD card and then use the 'Install' button on TWRP
  12. Sorry it's me again. I have decided to stick with custom ROM's and have recently tried a 4.2.2 one (Expert-V4-Final) using TWRP U8951 (G510). I now want to try KitKat (dazzozo's 4.4.2) but he says to use a recovery updated for 4.3+ (with the EXT4 fix). How do I update from Thanks
  13. Good job I asked. I'll stick with the custom ROM's and only use 'update.app' if I need warranty service. Thanks so very much.
  14. Thanks very much for that. I'll give it a try. Will I still have TWRP and be able to load more custom ROM's
