I've had random reboots on any custom rom installed via cwm; the fix for me was to grab an official rom (B952) from Huawei site, rooted the phone so I could uninstall unnecessary programs; I didn't unlock the bootloader, so I'm not able to install any custom roms anymore, but I don't have annoying random reboots.
I agree there is no method to stop random reboots, except maybe not to unlock the bootloader. Right now I'm downloading B952 update.app from Huawei, I will root the phone but nothing else. As soon as a dev will solve random reboots problem, I might install again custom roms.
Yesterday I put 948 Singapore via update.app, rooted and unlocked bootloader, I had no reboots by now with 3g connected all the time; the rom has no fm radio, but is pretty clean and smooth, same as 944
For unlocking I used the file compiled by genokolar here
All other roms where unblocked using this guide http://huaweig300.com/huawei-g300-install-a-custom-jelly-bean-ics-rom-from-scratch/re-root-unlock-bootloader-install-clockworkmod-recovery/ which has a different file BootloaderG300.exe. The reboots might have occurred because of that file?
I've tried a full update.app with B936 for my country (Romania), then rooted the phone and random reboots are still there.
Same thing happened when using B944 update.app Yoigo Spain as base rom.
Next step is downgrading to GB, root, unlock bootloader and wait for another reboot. I'm pretty sure wil not get any as I think is just an ICS issue, not a hardware one. Some people have experienced it, others not. It's weird.
Have you tried to root and unlock bootloader on GB rom? If reboots are caused by 3g connection they should appear on every rom, even GB I think.
What do you say about that? Is GB fully functional if rooted?
@vhristenco I agree with you, started to get random reboots caused by 3g connection only after I rooted, unlocked the bootloader & installed CWM
I've tried different roms so far, I'm on CM10 right now having same issue
CM10 is the future for G300, thanks a lot Daz, but still got a serious problem with random reboots caused by 3g connection; is there a hardware related issue because I don't see so many people complaining about that?
What's the main reason of zeroing the IMEI?; this process can help changing the band or it has different benefits? I think using a "Middle package for Vodafone" we can downgrade without zeroing the IMEI.
