Whilst I'm having a moan about all the bugs I'm finding with my new C600 (even though I think it's a brilliant phone), has anyone else got the old C500 bug where if you get an answerphone message, you cannot get to voicemail by pressing button 1 on the keypad.

This was fixed on my C500 with the ROM upgrade in Sept/Oct.

Looks like they better dust it off and bring it up to date for the C600 :?:

Had this problem on my 1st C600 but not my 2nd. All u have to do is go to settings>phone>call options and write the voice mail number in the correct field. you can get the number from ur c500....or google for it.

hi,
i used the c500 ability to cover the speaker with your finger to mute any noise, this was brilliant.
Phone on my disk might ring , i could pick it up , mute it, and read whos phoning, now the blimin thing rings and annoys people.

Putting your finger over the speaker hole now (c600) doesnt do anything :-(

Who else liked this 'function'
*

Im with you on this one.....got so used to doing it on my c500 that i still put my finger on the side of my c600 when it rings and the speaker aint even there! Was especially handy to "mute" delivery report alerts while sitting at the dinner table! lol

My phone seems to power up in flight mode even if it was not in flight mode when it was turned off. I think it only happens when Btooth is enabled.

Had my C600 for about a month. No dust issues yet like my C500 (although i took that apart and cleaned it with great ease). My joystick has given up already though! its rubbish. Bring back the paddle from the C500!

When I receive files sent to me by IR or Bluetooth they get stored in the phone´s memory, which is too small for mp3s and so on,  I´d like them to be saved at the memory card, anyone got a solution for this?

I'm having the same problem! Anyone know how to change the default storage location?

Its what its there for!

BUT.......... there used to be a problem on restoring Orange Backup contacts onto a C500 - they wouldn't then sync with Outlook (would show x contacts to sync and then just hang). This was a long time ago (they were made aware of the problem about 18 months ago I think) so I would hope that Orange either altered the Orange Backup service to take account of this or that the newer versions of activesync could deal with it.

Where is it then?! I cant find it anywhere on my C600!

do you have "display time out" set to never? that's what was causing mine to stay half-dimmed

Yes i do have display time out set to never but that shouldnt affect the backlight timeout....i always had display time out set to never on my SPV C500! Think it's a bug on the C600.

I'm already starting to miss my C500!!

QUOTE(MrDSL @ Mar 25 2005, 22:20)
I have a very weird speaker problem with my 5600 and I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing it or has. About once every 15-20 times when the first sound comes in through the speaker be it the ringer or just a key beep the speaker is all garbled and sounds like it is blown. Once it is past that first sound it works fine but it really kinda bites when it happens on a ringtone because then it makes a horrible sound till its answered. Has anyone else with this phone experienced this problem?

I get this every now and then and it persists till i re-boot the phone.....seems to be somehow connected to having bluetooth enabled??!! :?:

Like someone else said, download Smart Explorer 2.0.2 and then you can send files via bluetooth. As far as i know there is no other way of doing it with newer c500's.

Since I've had my SPV 500 my TV keeps de-tuning itself from NTL Cable and going to a blue screen every hour or so!! I have to constantly re-tune my tv.

Guess it could be a coincidence but it doesn't happen when the phones off.

I'm using Pocket Mac on my G5 and although it's not the most stable of programs, it at least lets you send MP3's, photos and videos to and from your c500. Haven't explored all the synching of contacts and calendar capabilities yet but not really bothered about that!

Seems to be a slight bug whereby you have to drag MP3's into your phones folder twice before it actually copies it?? Could just be me though!

I'd say it's well worth the £18 though.....just make sure you've got OSX 10.3 or higher.

Yeah it's definately dust.....looks like those orb things that people think are ghosts! They get bigger when you zoom in to x2 magnification. Quite annoying.

Just got a brand new C500 from Orange and when I zoom in in Video mode I can see quite a few dust particles showing up on the screen, (especially when in night mode). The dust is definately not on the outside of the lens.

I've also got a dead pixel.

Grounds for a replacement?

ps. I noticed that the battery was fully charged when it arrived so I'm thinking it's not such a "brand new" phone afterall!
