Also a long time Orange customer, I rang them and told retentions Tmobile were offering 700 mins unlimited text and unlimited (1GB) data and they matched it plus added free insurance (I was paying £6pcm) for the princely sum of £22.50pcm |

ask me again on Monday when it gets here But apparently not. SIM locked and Orange logo on the back plus maybe added a dedicated orange link, but nothing removed No nothing I can see, it is mercifully void of any orange logos, themes, links or ROM tweaks etc. as the man said it has an Orange logo on the back and that's it. |

Current device: Orange SPV M700 aka HTC Trinity running WM 6.1 with TouchFLO. 8GB micro SD with mini SD adapter To tell the truth my M700 has been with me now for 2 years and it still holds it own with most other touch screen devices, especially now I've installed the latest TouchFLO ROM on to it. I cannot believe the iPhone doesnt work with any sat nav programs! Whats the point of GPS? My M700 has been running tomtom 6 for the past couple of years, I couldnt live without it. Next device: Touch HD. What can I say, its out on Orange, I'm due an upgrade, I could use the additional processing and the bigger screen will be nice. MP3: Zune 80 (I'm not a big apple fan) |

I recently upgraded my laptop from Vista Home Premium to Business and now my M700 (flashed with Bepe's WM6 Rom) will not sync with it. It will connect via bluetooth or USB however upon connection the laptop tries to install a device driver, fails and then gives the message: "The class installer has denied the request to install or upgrade this device" I am pretty much without a clue as to how to solve this issue so any help would be appreciated. |

Hi, I have and XDA Orbit I am new to all this stuff but I have updated my ROM to Artemis Touch WWE WM6 (think I got that the right way round) had to use a USPL prog also from the same site to unlock the phone first but have had no problems. If I was gonna be picky I'd say the Battery Life ain't so good but then I am using my phone a lot more due to the ease of the interface. I'd say go for it and upgrade, just make sure you remove any memory cards first and back everything up too. GOOD LUCK! I am using Bepe's WM6 Rom minus TOMTOM and have found it a massive improvement on WM5 re: speed, memory etc... |

Thanks Steve. Anyone have any comments about using it as an audio player? once you have applied the bass fix the M700 is a great audio player. I use mine with TCPMP which although cant deal with video has no problem with audio and is far superior to windows media player. |

That's one expensive dummy! @Terminal, why don't you do it under warranty? Failing that you could download the zip file from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311463 It's a nice guide for dismantling the Trinity in pdf format Is that expensive? I was quoted £130 odd quid by Orange. Also I didn't think that me smashing my screen would be covered by warranty. Is it? Thanks for the guide, very helpful. |

I have recently cracked the screen of my M700 so I went online and brought a replacement. I am wondering if someone with experience replacing screens could tell me if this is a difficult job I should not bother attempting or if it is fairly straight forward. |

I have been having exactly the same problem recently. The M3100 is a fantastic phone but just that little bit too chunky for a primary device. The M700 offers pretty much exactly the same spec minus the keyboard in a more compact package, so i'm at a loss to which is the better solution! Personally i like my phones compact so i am tending toward the M700... You know what I think you are right, Nice as my unlocked, black, HTC TyTN is its just too bulky. What do you think is a fair price to ask for an unused, boxed one? |

I have a general question, I have recently been sent a TyTN to replace my broken C600 however while I was waiting for my TyTN Orange upgraded me to an M700 so I now own both phones and am at a loss as to which is better. I love the GPS on the M700 however the keyboard and flash on the TyTN are appealing, please give your opinions and advice here and help me decide which to keep! Personally I must say that Tom Tom plus the built in GPS of the M700 are seriously pulling me although the white body and lack of keyboard sway me in the other direction... |

hi, great advice on the m700. I have tomtom 6 europe on sd card.---- big problem is that it comes with no voices installed. it says u have to use supplied cd to transfer the desired voices (eg english UK, or english US etc) over to the m700 via sync cable. I have tried this, but no luck... any one had this prob? I think this would not b prob with UK maps only as this would prob have UK voices installed already? Hey shadmonk, I have tom tom on my M700 and it had no voices, if you go to settings and then to tom tom + services I think its called you will find an option that says download voices, click on that and pick Jane and you can download here for free. |

I have only seen 4Gb on ebay as OEM so if it works or not could be due the the manufacturer. I'd wait for something from Sandisk which is a more reliable and stable make. Yes but I am pretty sure that the C550/8300 OS has an upper limit to the size of memory card it can handle and I was wondering if there were any technical specs or someone I could ask to confirm exactly what the C600/8310 memory handling ability is? Hempo mentions in this thread that the 8310 can handle 4Gb but I only have his word for it! |

Can anyone give me a definative answer as to whether the Qtek 8310 is able to support a 4Gb mini SD card. The reson I ask is that I read this article and it seems clear that the 8300 cannot so I am reluctant to shell out £95 for a card that my 8310 cannot fully utilise. Thanks. |

QUOTE(shadamehr @ Jan 4 2006, 13:58) 1- Why wouldn't they - it's MS's native audio format after all. But to answer you, yes they do. As do MP3 if that is what you really meant, as they are the newer format for the phone to support. They can be on Phone Memory in the My Documents folder, or on mini SD in a similarly named folder - both will work fine. 2 - Homescreens still work, yes. But this is now a QVGA device, so only QVGA sized homescreens will work of course. 3 - Not really able to answer other than to say that a few things are known not to work. No I meant WMA because I have found it easy to use WM encoder to make teeny tiny audio files for use as ringtones. I only asked because on putting a wma file in to Application Data/Sounds it didn't turn up in sounds... it has now though so thanks. I love that it will now play off of the SD card, fantastic! However I have found that the audio files need to be free floating in your my docs folder on the SD card in order to work, if you put them in a folder they disappear from the sounds list??!! As for Q3 I was hoping people might just list one or two programs they know dont work, as a guide! Anyway thanks for the info!!! |

QUOTE(shadamehr @ Jan 4 2006, 14:03) Start by actually clicking on the "My Windows Mobile Device" icon, to see the real structure... Further on, some of the folders shown are under the Storage > My Documents folder. But simply put, click the "My Windows Mobile Device" icon, and start exploring from their, proper. Sure thats no problem but what the hell are these folders??? I cannot stand loose ends and I like to know what everything is!!! Any ideas? |
