It worked! By the Beard of Zeus! It took some time trying to get the phone into bootloader AND recognised by the installer Sorry for the delay in posting results, we got there in the end! EDIT - So after rolling back to WM5, it now seems Ive lost all the mobile goodiness of Excel and Word. I wouldnt be bothered if i didnt use them but seeing as I do I guess its trade off between a phone I cant use or not working out of office...meh? You have been warned! |

I've used a Voda sim with a wm6 BJ no problem. Didn't specifically have 3G enabled on it but it gave the 3G icon on screen. Could be the provisioning of your Voda sim? I've sent you the link to the WM5 rom. As it's an official rom on samsung's server I'll post it here too as no-one should mind ;-) http://www.samsungwireless.com/techtrain/t...ack_Upgrade.zip M.S Thanks for the link MS, will have to try it after the weekend due to relationship commitments |

With a bit of creative use of the wayback machine the wm5 rom update *is* still on samsung's servers despite any links trying to force you to wm6... p.m me if you need the link. M.S You have a PM! |

A word of warning. Print off ANY on-line receipts to show proof of purchase when purchasing online. I know it sounds stoopid but when you want their customer service to help out if you dont have any of the correct codes they'll close up tighter than a nun's...we'll, you know. |

Hello, strange one I need help with here - I've got a US wm6 i607 unlocked with a code from at&t. When I use my orange UK USIM it can read the contacts from my sim but can't start the radio stage ( no service, no IMEI displayed - *#06# says 'Failed', cannot alter settings in the service menus ) and I've tried a few ornage UK sims, but when I insert a t-mob UK sim it works fine. T-mob UK and Orange UK use the same GSM frequency. I can only think orange having dedicated 3G USIMS have something setup differently. Although my T-mob sim works on 3G it's a pre 3G older simcard. Seems a bit odd though. Any explanation / way around it? There must be something as orange supplied the i600 in the UK with a 3G sim. My AT&T sim still works fine roaming. Onto Orange.... M.S edit - incidently, with the wm6 upgrade, bubble breaker on megashift, first game, all blue bubbles just like the s620. Hello, new highscore!!! I would also like to know as I'm in the same boat as you. I won a competition over on CoolSmartPhone and received a nice shiney SIM-free BlackJack, loaded the WM6 and now my Orange SIM card wont work |

Hi Nedge Got a question for you. But not related to your review though. You compared the phones briefley to a HTC Trinity. Is that an official HomeScreen plug-in you've got on it or part of a cooked rom? Thanks |

Well i have a blackjack1, I recently upgraded to the offical samsung windows mobile 6. I like it and all. The only problem i seem to having ,is that when i go to compose a text, i have no abc text. Its all just numbers and i tried switching it but it still insists on not changing. I may be missing something maybe and i did try searching numerous times with no know fix. anyone have an idea how to get m typing text back. It kinda sucks when someone text messages you and you can respond.lol thanks again steve Hi Steve, I know this may sound like a daft question , but are you you trying to type in the ''To:'' box or the main message box? Got my BJ in front of me and it only let me write numbers in the receipients(?) box. When typing the main body of the message, pushing the ''Fn'' button swaps between numbers and letters. Have you tried using the Num Lock? Also, you say youve upgraded to WM6, check the PDA and Phone version, START>SETTINGS>MORE>MORE>VERSION. They should both end CHA1. I just done this yesterday, didnt install the Modem Drivers properly and caused all sorts of probs. It flashed WM6 to the device but not complete. You might have something missing???? Hope that helps! |

Found this helpful guide with links and instructions on how to install your WM6 update. Currently on my third attempt after not following the instructions http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa/jsp/fa...amp;AT_ID=83176 Right, what I forgot to mention was this is for AT&T branded BlackJack's, which is what my device is. So, proceed with caution if yours is other than exactly that. I do not know if this will work with UK phone carriers. |

Been updating my i607 BlackJack unsuccessfully so far, phase 1 and 2 completed relatively quickly. It seems to be hanging on phase 3 and the application progress bar says ''Waiting for next image...'' Not done this kinda thing before and I'm guessing its failed. I know it takes about ten minutes, which its coming up to. Does this usually takes this long on this 'phase'???? The phone says its 'downloading...'??? At what point shall I unplug the thing???? Any help much appreciated Thanks in advance! |

OK, I'm new here and have a problem with my M700 I had a genuine version of TomTom 6 turn up today which I installed without problems. SD card straight in and it installed, activated it OK. I went outside to use it and it worked fine, planned a route, looked at the maps but when I put in a London address it said London didn't exist...and the I got a "no maps found" error. So this is where I was stupid....I thought I could just uninstall the TomTom software and then reinstall it. It unstalled fine, but now there does not appear to be anyway I can reinstall it. I've taken the SD card out, but it back in again. The files are there but the autorun doesn't work. I'm presuming TomTom has installed a file or files somwhere that are preventing the autorun from allowing me to reinstall. Any ideas how I can get it to reinstall? First question is have you made a back-up copy of your TT6??? I learnt this quite some time with a tomtom unit I bought but thats another story Buy another larger SD card and copy the TT6 onto it and use the copy to run TT. Or try and head on over and register(free) http://www.dirksoft.co.uk/forum/, the guys are very helpful and you'll get a quick response to |

Evening all...late I know I received my spangley new device today from the good 'ol US and A but as expected all the connection settings are SNAFU! SIM card worked fine. Now, I have seen a couple of posts that have answered this in the form of a .CAB download but it was for PPC's, not smartphone's. It was a simple installer run from Windows that allowed you to choose your Operator and voila installed all the correct settings.... Any help much appreciated Much thanks in advance EDIT-found it here http://www.modaco.com/Network-Settings-Wizards-t254287.html This doesnt seem to be too successfull, Im only getting 34Kbs |

I want to use the PIN lock on the phone. I've used two attempts, both under the influence of alconol which I don't recall, and am stuck with one attempt left. I've looked in the HTC manual and orange documents. Both of which don't give anything away! Anyone shed any light? Is there a standard factory fitted(????) password, ''0000''.... Ive tried the four and eight zeros, well I think it was eight i was seeing double at the time! Much thanks in advance |

I live in a fairly weak signal area. I am finding that every week or so I notice that my phone has no signal (in decent reception places) no matter where I am the phone will not get a signal. If I just turn off/on the phone then the signal is picked up. Anyone else having this problem? Yeah, me too. I work in London and cant get any signal in the building im in. But once im outside its fine, but usually means turning the phone on and off |

Evening all, Can anyone recommend a good pair of BT headphones for the sexy M700? Looking to spend about £65, maximum. Ive been looking around, and some of them have got a small BT device that plugs into the phone which BT's the music to the headphones/earphones. With the M700 having a USB type plug on the bottom, it seems to be limiting my choice in this area. Or am I going to have to sell my car for a pair?!?! Any recommondations are much appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
