I've been running this ROM for a few weeks now with no major problems. The only issue I have (and may not be ROM related), is that about once a week, my e-mail account fails to send e-mail (I'm using smtp.t-email.co.uk as my outgoing server). A soft-reset will not fix it, but deleting the account and re-adding it (with exactly the same settings!), fixes it.

Anyone else noticed this? Explanation? It's a bit of a pain.

email, the option to use imap is greyed out... how annoying that it insists on auto detecting your settings.

I called retentions a while ago threating to leave for TMobile as they had better data plans. I was offered
Racoon 35 reduced to 25 a month on a 12 month tariff, on top of this an extra 400 mins and 100 text plus 200 landline minutes. I said thats all well and good but what about the data, well let me see they say.. we can do 8quid a month unlimited data, 'unlimited?' i said are you sure? yes they said. Fine i went away to think about it called back and spoke to someone else and got them to confirm the unlimited by reading through the T&Cs again confirmed it was unlimited. Having taken the names of both reps I went for the deal.
Got the phone (free) and it is a great phone i have to say!
Called to day just to confirm the plan, only to be told no its 30mb a month! I was annoyed so said thats not what I was told, was then transfered to someone who was very abrubt and said well if you dont want it you are within your 7 days so just send us the phone back.
Obviously very unhappy with this and the level of C/S i was given, I plan to call back and ask how i make a complaint but no doubt nothing will be done so will be going to TMobile after all, shame as the orange phone looks a lot nicer.

So a word of warning, check, check and check again. Anybody have any comments besides 'HaHa'

I don't have one to see really, but it seems since you're going down the road of installing dodgy HTC stuff anyway, a reflash with the HTC ROM might be easier!

I've just come off the phone with Orange upgrades who put me through to retentions. Without me having to even spin any lines, they offered me a free upgrade with a Racoon 35 package at £20 per month + the £8 per month data package. Initially it was on an 18 month contract but when i baulked at that the guy was happy to drop it down to 12 months. Needless to say i have taken them up on the offer. My monthly spend is usually >£70 so no doubt this had some bearing on there willingness to keep me sweet. My TyTn II should arrive tomorrow.
A result!

Just ordered mine - Free of charge on racoon 12 months + 8 data too. Off to cex today to sell them my m3100!

Just Ordered two TYTN 2 through retentions. I am a higher user than my wife (band 4 and 3) - combined bill is about £100. Unlike previously they will now combine points for both accounts which means she got a free kaiser as well. I did it on a 12 month contract, "exactly like the last deal" - which was good as it meant I did not have to renogiate it! :

1) 1100mins (including free extra) + 450 texts for £35 - should have been £39 (inc VAT) £4 refunded for year Tarrif
Waive £4 for 12. Equivalent to Panther 45 18 month deal for £35 for 12 months
2) Ability to renew on same terms i.e. Panther 45 (18 month deal) for £35 on 12 month contract
3) Free broadband on 12 months
4) Free magic number
5) **Data for £8 unlimited** (with 1Gb fair use) - unlike T-mobile this works fast HSPDA with a laptop and with skype
6) Free insurance
7) Free broadband

1) 19/m for 250xnet plus 100 texts

Hello everyone, first time poster - long time reader. I was in the same predicament as others. I have been with Orange for over three years, monthly bills about £90. Had the P990i and wanted to upgrade to the Tytn II, but gave up after nothing materialised. Spoke to retentions last Thursday & told them I wanted to change as T-Mobile offered not only the handset I wanted but also the data plans to make it usable. The friendly lady agreed with me and let me go, just like that. The point being: it's all well and good to get the handset, but you also need the price plans with it to make it usable. At present it seems that Orange has nothing better to offer than T-Mobile -and so far I have been a very happy bunny with the Vario III on Flext + Web'n'Walk .

The muppets at Orange, both in retentions and business retentions, are STILL denying all knowledge of this phone despite it being in the October magazine (page 16). They say they do not even have it listed in review. I give up.
