PHM TrayLaunch is a MUST have and is freeware. It's on xda-developers and be sure to read the entire thread before getting started. It is really simple and combined with SmartsKey, they make a killer combination.

QUOTE(esh @ Mar 23 2006, 12:17)
I have tried smart keys - the above mentioned program from xda and it messed up the volume control a bit so i could not select vibrate and sound off - also v difficult to uninstall - nigh on impossible without hard reset as it sets up notification queues. better do what i do and map start menu to button 5 using settings/buttons
cheers

you may like vito's "buttonmapper". it is not freeware/shareware but can assign quick-press and long-press to both softkeys and has a true kill-program "x" applet included. i bought it and used it until i started using water's "smartskey" from xda-developers. i have no issues with it and have upgraded with every enhancement release. very light and transformed my wiza100 allowing access to start (left-soft long press) and stop/kill "x" program (right-soft long press). it also does other little cool things. read the complete post to follow the development.

Your 2125 is application locked, meaning you can't install programs on it. T

well well. i'm not alone. my cingular 2125 has gotten stuck in phantom flight mode three times in four weeks. once with the first phone that crashed. and twice with its replacement. for me, bluetooth was not involved. seems to be related to locking into network. no network or somehow unable to connect bugs out the radio i think...

the first phone never worked again. this one required a call to provider to reset all my network settings on server side plus hard reset the first time and somehow the second time i prayed and let it sleep overnight and it woke up fine.

The Wizard has a number of input methods. One of them is called Phone Pad. It replicates a phone keypad and allows you to enter text using t9 or abc modes. It also suggests words.

good news so far. will this "phone-pad" feature leave room on the display to view inputted text? can someone please post a screen shot of this function performing sms?

btw... i ask because i dash mount my device and sometime reply short sms with index finger wink.gif

since i'm waiting for cingular/u.s. faraday to arrive, thought i'd practice unlocking on my cingular blue typhoon. first, i tried method already used successfully on cingular/faraday buy others. (this first method is suppose to be for faraday but i tried it anyway since it works for some att & cingular typhoon roms)

result:

no luck this way...

Step 1. Removing application lock
a) Install the WinMo Registry Editor

Using the editor change these two values in phone registry, both at
HKey_Local_ Machine\Security\Policies\Policies\

Change 00001001 from current value to 1
Change 00001005 from current value to 40

Reboot the phone.

3) Removing SIM lock from your phone.
Obtain a copy of SPV-Services tool

Unzip all of the contents of the ZIP file into a folder on your PC.
Move cert.cab from that folder to your phone and RUN it.
Run SPVServices.exe on your PC (your Smartphone has to be connected),
chose SIM lock option on the left, type AGREE into a box....

this has worked for others....well....after several varied attempts...i gave up and went a different way and...

-----------------------------------------------

i then went this way instead > CLICK

...this worked perfectly.

-----------------------------------------------

i have three questions please:

1) is it true then...that our u.s. typhoons are really only partially application-unlocked?

2) can DisableSecurity be removed from phone after use? (this is my stupid question)

3) when i go to unlock 2125, what is the better/safer process prior to using
the SPV-Services tool? direct registry edit or running A E Config & DisableSecurity?

will be in italy next month for two weeks with my attwireless smt5600. does anyone know if i'll be able to easily find a charger or should i just bring my car charger and budget battery life based on access to access to autos?

i'm going to unlock phone before i go and was wondering what carrier to use. while there, i think i'll mostly be a data user with limited phone use. help.

does anyone else experience a screaching first ring when using bluetooth headset. really scratchy and load distorted first ring then following rings are normal. i use the standard ring profile on my smt5600.

i believe that speakerphone volume is adjusted using the volume rocker while in call and while speakerphone is enabled. however, it seems that the max volume is less that that of mediaplayer. how does one adjust the max volume setting for speakerphone? i have already set all speakerphone profile settings to loud. is there freeware available for this tweak?

thank you in advance for sharing knowledge.

for $99us, i guess i shouldn't expect perfection. but i do. i bluetooth my smt5600 to parrot driveblue and was initially satisfied until the parrot's noise reduction mutes caller mid sentence. i'm guessing it's the noise reduction. could cabin noise (wind, engine, tranny...) be the cause. anyone have one these? i'm close to returning it for refund. ideas?
