In exactly the same situation, been very happy with the M2000 but thinking of upgrading, thanks for the simple answer!

I used 'Generic' Advanced MIDP2 and it looks to work, as you said no uk data but good to play with.

Good news!

When speaking to someone in the customer services department she told me that 'they' had recieved an email about units with dead pixels from Sony and that replacing the unit wouldn't be an issue.

Took it back to the store (HMV Oxford St) and they replaced it over the counter as soon as I told them the problem.

Could have cried.

Got my nice new PSP home last night, it starts up and there must be about 8 dead pixels in an area the size of my thumb.
Been on the phone trying to get it sorted this morning

Hi,

I am looking around for a case for my M2000, from going on forum reccomendations I have found these two

http://www.senacases.com/cart/home.php?cat=336

http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t...1098&t_mode=des

Ideally I would like a leather case like the top one with a window so I can see who is calling, anyone come across such a case ?

thanks

Okay, the battery had a 14 hour charge during the day.

I am out and about for the next few days, but i'll do a full charge and leave it to see what happens and then post back in a few days.

I finally phoned Orange and asked them to replace my MPX-200 battery that has had diminishing performance since I got it on the 8th of December.

I was told that the battery would be replaced under the terms of my phone insurance, but that "this time the excess of £15 would be waived". I questioned this and said it was a manufacturing fault, not an insurance claim. The woman on the phone just made out as if all claims of any kind were covered under insurance and not any other warranty. Now I am sure that I don't want to be making a claim on insurance just for a battery problem within 3 weeks of getting a new phone.

Any advice would be appreciated,

Duncan

I definetly have a battery issue. Haven't got it to last over 36 hours yet (on a 100% indicated charge), will try charging from the mains and see what happens.

Working in IT dept in a Law firm.

We must have 200+ Blackberry users & any fee earner is allowed to have any PDA. It's a really bad policy in place that has so many holes in. All email is screened and there is no access to web email clients from the desktop & no floppy drives. Yet you can plug in a PDA or USB PenDrive and take whatever you want :? Main concern is for client data being stolen.

Only had one SPV as far as I am aware, and I got stuck with setting it up as I already had one. Typical.

I got the original text on 1/12.

Can't see at as anything other than £5 free. Orange are really good at sorting billing mistakes anyway, just remember to look at your bill!

Been with Orange for 6 or 7 years and can't recall ever having a free upgrade, but thats what happens of you want to keep your number and like new phones sad.gif

Anyway, just been on the phone to Orange and for a fiver more than I currently pay have an airtime, text and data package I am really happy with. And of course the MPX200 for free.

QUOTE
If you start a new contract with your existing operator you will have to get a new number

I have heard of people getting a new contract within the network (not an upgrade) and porting their number. Just like everything else at Orange I guess it depends on who you speak to & what you say.

I have had my number for 7 years and don't plan on changing it now, upgrades are the worst thing about having a mobile phone. Seven years as a customer with bills between £30 and £200, and 'they' are happy to let me go to another network.

It's all about the big customer though; I have a friend who manages to run up bills of 4k sometimes hitting 6k a month on a single Vodafone number [heavy international roaming], they let him have any phone he desires for free, kinda makes sense really !
