Hi, Is anyone using the Bronit holder with the hermes? and If so are you using the Upright or Horizontal one?
And if you are using the horizontal holder is it possible to use it with the phone in the closed position? or does the holder prevent it from being closed?

Thanks for your help.

One may exist.. but it's not quite ready for WM5.. there is something by smartner, which worked great on the M2000 but they tell me the WM5 version won't be around till Q2...don't bother emailing them because they take 2 weeks to reply..but if you want to see then it's www.smartner.com
Don't install it on your PPC.. it freezes and causes it to completely screw up.. it really won't even work a bit.. you'll have to wait for them to update it but don't hold your breath!

This morning I recieved a copy of Smartner for WM5, I haven't had chance to try it yet but will let you know how I get on

Pair the device in BT then fire up Copilot V6 and it recognises it, simple.

I have paired the device, and am trying to use Wayfinder and CompGPS, Have also tried with Crux_View and had no luck there either.
I know the GPS is OK and have used it with both CompGPS on a Loox and Wayfinder on a Nokia 9300.

Hi, Am finally back to using a MS based phone, Had the original SPV but moved back to nokia for a while but now have a Qtek 9000,
But I am buggered if I can get it working with a Emtac GPS, The GPS connects fine to my Loox, bit on the 9000 nothing at all.

Does someone have an idiots guide to connecting a GPS on MS Mobile 5.0?

Thanks people.

We are seriously considering a separate weather spin-off application. Our partner supplying the weather stream has a whole host of weather data that we are looking in to.

If we were to release a weather only version - the cost would still be around $9.99 - access to excellent weather data, updated hourly for 56,000 cities world wide costs

We would be very interested in users who feel this product would be worth while.

As for your issues with the speed - please let me know which areas you feel are slow and we'll take a look.

I have just got hold of the latest release and it's looking good,
I would certainly be interested in a weather only module, one with METARS and TAFS would be a killer app for me!!!
Keep up the good work!

I had the letter stating I was going onto a 2 Meg bundle this month, Got may bill yesterday and it shows the promotional charges until the end of July, Just spoke to a very nice lady on 152 who checked my account and said the expiry date for the promotional package on my account is set to 9999, So in her words,"you'll be on that pakage for as long as you own the phone" smile.gif Which is great news, but if O have changed their minds about charging us higer bills you would think they would earn some brownie points by telling everyone!!!!!!

I've just had a new phone and battery from O, my standby time was down to 3hrs!!!!!
One thing to check, when your phone is on charge does it stay on mains? or does it switch back and fore between mains and battery?
Mine now switches to battery after it's fully charges, then back to mains after about 30mins!
I haven't done the lastest update but this only started happening about 2 weeks ago, With a new phone and battery it is still doing it!!! I guess the only thing left to change is my charger, but at least now my battery life is more usable, haven't measured it yet but it's somewhat more than 3hrs!!!!!

Oh and one last rant! had some idiot from O customer services tell me that the SPV was known for poor battery life and 3 hrs standby was acceptable!!!!

I'm fairly sure the problem is with the phone and not the battery,
When the phone is put on charge it charges for a while and then switches back to battery, and stays there until the battery is flat!
Charging with the phone off doesn't help, the phone just stops charging after about 10mins sad.gif

Hi
Up until recently I would have supported O for their attempts to support the SPV which is afer all new technology,
But having spent the last 2 weeks trying to get anyone at O to admit that I have a problem with my phone I have just about lost patience with them!
They have finally now agreed to replace my handset but not before some idiot who was supposedly a supervisor told me that poor battery life was a known feature of these phones and that in his opinion 3 hours of standby was acceptable!!!!!!!!
am expecting a new phone delivered this evening, and I am hoping against hope I never need to have anything to do with O customer support again!

Bluetooth occupies the same frequency space as 802.11b - and Lufthansa, Virgin and BA are all in the process of rolling wireless networking out across their aircraft on certain routes, with a view to have the option on all routes by the end of 2004.

There's no risk to any FBW systems from such radio technology, and i'd hope that if fokkerjet was a real airline pilot he'd already know that...

Yes you're quite right, Lufthansa, Virgin and BA are all in the process of rolling it out, and the reason it's taken them so long is they have had to come up with a very low powered version that works within the plane at no risk to the FBW and instruments,

Maybe a stupid question but always check the obvious first,
you do have the box checked asking for a reminder when you enter the calender items?

ah now see that is where Nokia at least got one thing right, 2 player snake smile.gif
I think my Girlfriend would do me a serious injury if I sat in a hospital with her and spent the time playing on my SPV.
Maybe you guys are just braver than me, or have more forgiving partners! :?:

Don't tell them it's a phone!

Seriously I was interrogated in a hospital yesterday when playing on my 'phone, she wasn't convinced until I showed the 'radio off' bit and explained.

My wife surreptitiously pulled her Nokia phone out of her pocket and turned it of after that!

Am I the only one who finds it a bit side that you would be "Playing" with your phone when you are sat in a hospital with your wife? The art of conversation really is dead!!! :? laugh.gif tongue.gif

Here is one of the threads relating to this,

http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...1890&highlight=

In brief yes it should be OK, but if the aircrew say no it really isn't worth arguing with them, especially is the current climate

and in light of one of the other threads in progress at the moment I must say I only managed to find it because I knew I'd posted a message on it, so just did a search for all my posts tongue.gif

The main problem with O Care is that you have to convince them that you need a replacement in the first place, once you've done that they are very good.  BUT, they do seem to have some muppet operators who fail to understand that some faults are quite plainly faults (like my SPV not recognising the SD card), and the operator tells me they need to do tests to see if it is really the phone or whether it could be an environmental issue (what like alien radio waves jamming the SD card or something!!?!)

Argh!  Frustrated!

smile.gif

Forget your Morals, Lie to them, tell them your phone won't switch on, or is stuck in headphone mode, they send out a replacement and who cares if when yours gets to the workshop they can't find the same fault!
